message from mike
Hello, Vallejo!
There are many planned events and projects moving forward this Spring, including the groundbreaking ceremony for the Navigation Center which will serve as a central hub for the unhoused community, and the ribbon cutting ceremony for IHART which will provide much need assistance with the Vallejo Police Department on calls involving mental health issues.
I’d like to thank Staff for all their hard work and determination to continue providing excellent service to the City during this transition for a new City Manager. My last day with the City of Vallejo will be April 18th and I will assist in any way I can for a successful transition.
Respectfully,
Mike Malone Vallejo City Manager

VPD: TAking guns off our streets
On March 21, 2024, Vallejo Police Department (VPD) officers responded to a call for service regarding multiple males near an abandoned school on the 700 block of Grant Street carrying firearms. The caller provided a detailed description of the six males and their location.
VPD requested aid from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Air Unit to fly over the scene. CHP Air confirmed that the males were at the scene with firearms.
VPD Patrol officers responded to the area and attempted to make contact with the males. When the males saw our officers, they tried to run away from the area. Our officers were able to saturate the area and apprehend all the suspects and their firearms with the help of the CHP Air Unit.
All six males were arrested, and thankfully, nobody was injured during this high-risk and dangerous incident. One of the males had $100,000 worth of warrants for his arrest out of Solano County and San Francisco County for stolen property and possession of a firearm. Another one of the males was discovered to be a juvenile, and he was cited and released to his mother.
Officers also discovered that four of the five firearms recovered were converted into fully automatic weapons.
All of the adult males were transported to the county jail, and the firearms were entered into evidence.
Thank you to the vigilant citizens who helped our officers get these dangerous people and firearms off our streets. Thank you to CHP Air for your assistance and help in making Vallejo safer.
