VALLEJO CENTER FOR THE ARTS SUMMER CAMP The Vallejo Center for the Arts summer arts camp begins on July 12 and runs through July 23. This uniquely comprehensive two-week program allows students, ages 7 to 14, to experience theatre, music, and the visual arts through an environmental scope. Classes will include drawing, painting, printmaking, pastels, action figure drawing, photography, costume and scenic design, and new this year, percussion instruments. Campers will play surdos, tom-toms, triangle, tambourine, Djembe, scrapers, shakers and more. Campers’ artwork will be exhibited on July 24 at the Temple Arts Loft, and the campers will perform an original play in the Empress Theatre. THE HILL VALLEJO BACKPACK AND FOOD DRIVE This Saturday, July 10, The Hill Vallejo will be handing out free backpacks filled with school supplies as well as boxes filled with food from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their campus on 210 Locust Drive. Come while supplies last. Their coffee shop will be open and there will be lots of fun games for the kids. It’s an event open to everyone in the community.

REBUILDING TOGETHER SOLANO COUNTY FRIENDS AND FAMILY PARKING LOT SALE Join Rebuilding Together Solano County (RTSC) on Saturday, July 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for RTSC Friends and Family Parking Lot Sale. Your purchase or donation supports Rebuilding Together Solano County in providing health and safety support to veterans and low-income households in Solano County. In exchange for your donation, lunch will be provided by their famous Chef Paul Carpenter who will be grilling a fantastic BBQ lunch beginning at noon (until food runs out). This event will take place on Walnut Avenue, the parking lot in front of Building 535, on Mare Island. Cash or credit cards are accepted for sale items; all items sold as-is, no refunds. There will be no delivery services provided with this sale so bring your truck / SUV / etc. to haul away your goodies no later than Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

VALLEJO MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC COMING TO THE CHRISTIAN HELP CENTER Over the past three years, the Vallejo Mobile Health Clinic has served the Vallejo community on one Saturday a month. The Mobile Health Clinic partners with Vallejo Together to bring medical providers and students to help those in need of care. The next series of visits to the Christian Help Center, located at 2166 Sacramento Street, will be on Saturday, July 10, August 14, and September 25 from 10 am - 12 pm.
