EB I-80/SR 29 CONNECTOR RAMP CLOSURE STARTING AT 11:59 PM ON SAT., JULY 31, 2021 Caltrans Bay Area will be working on WB/EB Interstate 80(I-80) at State Route 29 (SR-29) as crews start bridge demolition work for two consecutive night starting on Saturday, July 31, 2021- Monday, August 2, 2021. Crews will be closing the EB I-80 and SR-29 connector ramp overnight starting at 11:59 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 until 10:00 AM, Sunday, August 1, 2021. The work will continued Sunday overnight starting at 11:59 PM until 6:00 AM, Monday, August 2, 2021. UPCOMING CLOSURES ON HIGHWAY 37 BETWEEN WALNUT AVENUE IN VALLEJO & STATE ROUTE 121 Alternating Overnight Full Highway Closures One Travel Direction of SR-37 To Remain Open At All times WORK STARTS MONDAY, AUGUST 2 As part of a two-week roadway repair project, starting Monday, August 2, Caltrans will alternate overnight full highway closures on westbound and eastbound State Route 37 (SR-37) between Walnut Avenue on Mare Island in Vallejo and State Route 121 (SR-121) near Sears Point and the Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma County. At least one travel direction of SR-37 will remain open at all times. US LEADERS INCLUDE VALLEJO MOBILE MENTAL HEALTH RESPONSE UNIT IN 2022 FEDERAL SPENDING LEGISLATION The Vallejo Police Department is pleased to share that US Congressman Mike Thompson and US Senator Dianne Feinstein have included the Department’s Mobile Mental Health Response Unit Pilot Program in 2022 Fiscal Year spending legislation. “We are extremely grateful for the support our federal and state leaders have extended toward making trauma-informed care services in the Vallejo community a priority,” Chief of Police Shawny K. Williams stated. “As we continue to implement reforms, we understand the importance of creating collaborative partnerships that transform how we provide integrated services for our most vulnerable populations.” The pilot program would provide a multi-disciplinary response to calls for service involving those experiencing mental-health-related crises and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. VALLEJO PD SHUTS DOWN RECENT SIDESHOWS: SIX FELONY ARRESTS MADE On Saturday, July 24, 2021, Vallejo Police Officers responded to large sideshows of more than 100 participants in the areas of Tennessee and Maple and Sonoma, and Lemon streets. Upon arrival, objects were thrown at officers, and a Vallejo Police patrol vehicle window was shattered. Six people were arrested on felony charges, and separate arrests were made under charges that included hit and run, evading police, sideshow aiding and abetting reckless driving, and conspiracy. In addition, two vehicles were impounded for 30 days. PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY VALLEJO MGP CLEANUP PROJECT WEEKLY REPORT PG&E has a voluntary program to clean up sites impacted by previous operations. Two properties located at 226 and 240 Curtola Parkway that are associated with the former Vallejo manufactured gas plant (MGP) are currently being cleaned up as part of this program. Residents can anticipate some noise and truck traffic associated with construction activities. The sidewalk in front of these properties will be closed to pedestrian traffic during the demolition of the warehouse building on these site(s).
