The Vallejo Water Department Co-Sponsors Teacher Workshop The popular Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) workshop is once again being offered to Vallejo teachers on February 20 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For over a decade the Vallejo Water Department has co-sponsored the no-cost, interactive, environmentally educational, teacher workshop. The program educates a wide range of ages, as it is designed for kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms. During the session, educators are introduced to new water resource instruction materials and are taught how to integrate interactive drinking water and watershed related curricula into their classrooms. These workshops are typically held twice during the school year at various locations throughout the County, however due to current restrictions they will be offered virtually. Register for the February workshop by clicking here.

Volume 9 Issue 4
The City is looking for YOUR FEEDBACK on the Upcoming Mare Island Bridge Causeway Project The Mare Island Causeway Bridge, originally built in 1934, is a vehicle and pedestrian bridge that straddles the Napa River and serves as the connector between the Greater Vallejo area and Mare Island. In 2016, the City completed an upgrade project on the Bridge, replacing a 50-foot span of bridge timber with steel. The iconic Bridge requires additional maintenance repairs to extend the Bridge’s serviceable life and improve pedestrian and driver safety. These repairs are expected to include: • Bridge deck and pile repairs • Sidewalk replacement and ADA improvements • Lighting and handrail repairs • Repainting the Bridge’s steel lift span, towers, and historic logo • Deck methacrylate coating (Painting) • Concrete spall and crack repairs • Fender system repair for marine traffic safety • Replacement of underwater anodes For more information about the project, visit www.MIbridgeproject.com To leave your comments and questions, Click HERE. View and download the project information sheet HERE.
