EXPERIENCE, IN ADDITION TO TOP-NOTCH FACILITY

BRINGS PASS HOLDERS TO WESTERVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER

The Westerville Community Center pass is designed to provide enhanced recreation and fitness experiences to both residents of Westerville and non-residents. Available on an individual basis or to households, the pass allows access to our newly-expanded facility featuring a gymnasium, track, fitness area, indoor pool and climbing wall.

The Community Center has added new aspects to its facility, expanded its indoor track to one-seventh of a mile and pushed its fitness area to 15,000 square feet featuring more than 100 pieces of equipment from free weights to cardio equipment spanning two levels. While the facility grew from 96,000 sq. ft. to 145,000 sq. ft. after the expansion in 2020, offers all one could want in a fitness center. Many pass holders see value not only financially but in the relationships they develop with staff members and other pass holders.

Bob Prokop, a pass holder for 15 years, has seen the facility change for the better over time but lauds the people who bring it all together.

“The staff has always just been very friendly and helpful. The facility is top-notch and there are a ton of different options when it comes to working out. The people are great and working out with many of the same people over the years has given me a great sense of community.” -Bob Prokop

Seeing the facility evolve over the years, Prokop was happy to see the improvements since the expansion.

“There’s so much more space on the gym floor. There are many more workout options. We’re extremely fortunate to have a place like this in our community. You get great value for a quality product in a friendly environment. From the moment you walk in with the staff to the people working out next to you.” - Bob Prokop

With an adult individual resident rate of $26 per month, the Community Center offers significant bang for a pass holder’s buck compared to other area community and recreation centers and corporate big-box fitness facilities. In addition to all of the traditional amenities, child care is available and the esports room and adventure fitness area both set the Center apart from its counterparts. The adventure fitness area is the first of its kind nationally and the esports offering is one of only a handful of dedicated facilities within parks and recreation agencies across the country.

Greg Sheumaker, another pass holder, has seen the Center grow over his seven years as a pass holder but service from staff has never wavered.

“The expanded walking track and the new equipment are great additions to the facility. The exercise obviously is what we initially came here for but the staff is great. Everybody treats us like gold.” -Greg Sheumaker
