AARP Tax Assistance The AARP Income Tax Service will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 13 at the Center from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. by appointment only. AARP Representatives will be at the Center to prepare Federal, State, and City income tax forms. Please bring 1099 forms for 2016 showing Social Security/Railroad Retirement Benefits, interest, dividends, pension or annuity income and your W2 form reporting wages. Please bring a copy of last year’s tax return(s). Call the front desk to schedule an appointment.

The Westerville Senior Center PrimeTimes Newsletter will be taking on an exciting new look!
Moving forward, the PrimeTimes Newsletter will be included as a section within the Westerville Community Recreation Guide, along with all Parks and Recreation programs and events. This publication will provide members with additional information regarding City events and facts, project updates and upcoming community events. The Westerville Community Recreation Guide is available on a quarterly basis in spring, summer, fall and winter. Guides are mailed to all City of Westerville residents and available to be picked up from the Senior Center or viewed online.
How to find your classes and event in the Westerville Community Recreation Guide? You may now find all Senior Center activities and classes within the Westerville Community Recreation Guide’s Prime Time (gold) section. This follows Healthy Active Lifestyle (green) and precedes Parks and Recreation Information (blue). News and Notes, facility hours, transportation, membership information and rates can be found on the first two pages.
Older adult and senior programs and events will be available in the following categories: Continuous Learning Computers & Photography Continuing Education Creative Arts Arts & Crafts Healthy Active Lifestyle Sports & Fitness Support Services Meals Social Scene Games Trips & Skips Registration forms will now include a waiver to be signed by members when registering for any activity. Copies of the new registration form will be located on the front desk counter at the Senior Center and online at www. westerville.org/parks. This final edition of the PrimeTimes Newsletter reflects activities taking place in early March, only. Registration begins on Monday, February 27, online only. Walk-in registration begins Tuesday, February 28. All late March, April and May classes and events will be available in the spring edition of the Community Recreation Guide scheduled to be mailed in late February. Registration will be open for April and May classes upon receiving the guide. Additional copies are available at the many City facilities, the Community Center, Westerville Public Library and the Westerville Visitors and Convention Bureau. The Westerville Senior Association, Inc. has established a program for those members who require financial assistance to participate in the Senior Center’s Transportation Program. This program is open to members whose incomes are 150% of the poverty level, according to the 2017 Guidelines. Those wishing to apply, or reapply, should pick up and return the forms at the Senior Center to Sue Lewis. All requests for assistance are confidential.
Safe Call Rate: FREE
Safe Call is a daily telephone check-in service for home-bound, handicapped and elderly residents. Once you are enrolled in Safe Call, a computer will call your home every day at a time you have chosen. Circular Abstractions / Bulls Eye Quilt Exhibit Rate: $15 due at reg
The exhibit, which will feature the work of artists from countries spanning the globe—including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, and the United States — will display some of the most innovative quilts being done today. The juried invitational exhibition features 51 quilts by an array of artists that improvise around the Bull’s Eye Pattern; a four quadrant design with a bull’s eye at the center of each quarter. Color and design become the focus of the dazzling display inspired by Crow. We will travel on the senior center bus, Lunch is on your own at the famous Shaw’s in Lancaster.

Cartooning for Beginners Rate: FREE Instructor: Tom Masterson Do you doodle? Do you copy the Sunday comics? Do you want to delight your grandchildren? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this class is for you! No once can teach you cartooning, but Tom can show you how to draw cartoons. Most cartoonists are self-taught. Come experience dynamic discussions regarding common stocks. The club has managed an active investment portfolio of 15-20 US common stocks for 21 years. Members invest in the portfolio and participate in decisions about purchasing, holding and selling those stocks. Active discussion about market trends and stock opportunities is encouraged.
