Learn to Play with Woodland Park Hockey Association! WPHA is a local, non-profit youth hockey association that is dedicated to growing the game of hockey in Teller County. We develop players' skating and stickhandling along with hockey sense, teamwork, positive sportsmanship and FUN!!! Teams compete in games with other local house-level teams in Colorado Springs and along the front range. Season runs from September to March, includes 2-3 ice sessions per week and the chance to attend tournaments! We welcome players and skaters of all abilities in our USA Hockey Accredited program with certified coaches! Equipment & Scholarships available! Monthly payment plans available! Full season fee is $700.

The Start Smart program is a proven instructional program that prepares young children ages 3-5 for the world of organized sports, without the threat of competition or the fear of getting injured. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn all of the basics of each sport.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Ages 5 and Under: must be accompanied at all times in the water within arm ' s length by a

parent / guardian 16 years or older.

HALFPAGE ADVERTISMENT

Ages 6-9: A parent / guardian 16 years or older must be actively observing children from the deck. Non-swimmers use a Coast Guard approved life jacket.

Ages 10 and older: To use the diving board, WIBIT and deep end of the pool, children must pass a swim test that includes successfully swimming 15 yards swimming in the prone position using arm and leg actions for forward motion on the top of the water

GENERALRULES

Unsafe behavior such as running, pushing, shoving, dunking or horseplay is not permitted. Flips, belly flops and diving are allowed in designated areas only.

Proper swim attire is required for all swimmers. Underwear or street clothing does not constitute proper attire

Swim diapers with suit covers are required for those who are not toilet trained If an accident occurs in the pool, it will require a mandatory (per Health Department) closure of 30 minutes to 24 hours.

For safety and sanitation, changing on the pool deck, including diapers and clothing is prohibited. The City of Woodland Park is not responsible for lost or stolen items; please secure your items appropriately

WOODLAND SWIM ACADEMY

The Woodland Swim Academy curriculum presents total learn-to-swim and water safety for all ages and stages of aquatic development- ages 4-17. Students will participate in experiential learning activities that allow them to explore the water in a creative and comfortable environment Students will work toward the development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color stage awards for each achievement. The color stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Children will progress at their own pace. *Time is subject to instructor availability.
