Ivory Harlow, Executive Director, Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce An entrepreneur is a person who conceptualizes and operates a business, but more importantly, an entrepreneur is a person who creates opportunities in our community. The entrepreneurial spirit thrives in Pickaway County, creating opportunities for residents and visitors to shop, play, work, and engage.
In 2021 Sharff’s Fashion celebrated 75 years of retail service in Circleville. Entrepreneur Doug Baker honors Sharff’s legacy by continuing to provide high-quality clothing and goods in his downtown shop. Christopher’s Boutique has been in business over fifty years. Entrepreneur Sherree Jankiewicz keeps the shop current with modern fashion and trends. Not only does Christopher’s serve the local market, their online store ships nationwide! Pickaway County entrepreneurship also creates exciting food and beverage, entertainment, and local attractions. Stop in Circleville Nutrition, where entrepreneur Sarah McEntee serves up delicious and nutritious smoothies and beverages. Custom dairy-free and allergy-friendly options are available. Entrepreneur Jennifer Koenig’s Scioto Valley Coffee is another favorite. The clean and contemporary space was freshly remodeled in 2022. It’s the perfect place for professional meetings or coffee chat with friends. Local entrepreneurs have created opportunities for entertainment venues in Pickaway County. Chamber member Nicole Mitchell founded Manchester Hill Winery in 2017. Today the venue offers food, wine and cider tastings, retail, and musical entertainment. The Pickaway County Agriculture and Event Center hosts state and national events, thereby creating opportunities for entrepreneurs like Tae Spell. Tae operates Taesty’s food truck, serving southern style food at the event center and across Ohio. New business and chamber member The Twisted Willow brings beautiful home decor and craft classes to downtown Circleville in 2022. Founder Julie Johnson aims to provide a space for crafting, inspiration, and creativity in Pickaway County.
