FASCINATING FEATURES

2021 builders talk about this year’s Parade home features – and some of the most interesting requests they’ve ever gotten

P&D Builders

On Their 2021 Parade Home: “Our 2021 Parade Home was designed to feel inviting and refreshing from the moment you walk in. The double-sided fireplace is a top feature within the home, providing two great entertainment areas both inside and outside. The heat produced from these double-sided fireplace units provides enough heat to keep you comfortable into the late fall months, which is a top hit with our homeowners.” On Their All-Time Most Interesting Projects: “It is always a privilege to partner with our homeowners to bring their projects to life. Our longevity has certainly provided us with an extensive home building resume, as well as a list of some crazy features. You name it, we’ve most likely built it. A few of the most memorable projects we’ve built include indoor swimming pools, golf simulators, indoor basketball courts, a glass floor that looks into a wine cellar below and much more. We get excited every time we are afforded the opportunity to provide our creative input and execute a project that exceeds expectations.”

Edwards Land Company

On Their All-Time Most Interesting Projects: “This past year, we sold a home to a lovely lady who was most concerned about storms and high winds. To allay her fears, we offered a specially designed room as a shelter for herself and her precious pets. When you enter the room, it appears to be like any other in the home. After a few seconds, you realize there is no sound and calmness envelops the body. This happy homeowner not only has a beautiful home that is stylish and functional, she also has peace of mind in knowing that we have provided her with the sanctuary she needed.”

Created Hardwood This gorgeous modern dining room features furniture by Created Hardwood. The table is a maple live edge top with Flares bases in matte black. The Solid Face Credenza offers a nice tie in with the same species in maple front. Distinctive Marble & Granite This master bathroom was a custom project that Distinctive Marble & Granite fabricated for a custom built home in Powell. A total of 23 slabs of marble, imported directly from Italy specifically for this project, were used. The company carefully book matched every slab to create beautiful patterns.

Trinity Homes

On Their All-Time Most Interesting Projects: “One that comes to mind is that we installed an elevator and made other accommodations for a buyer with a disability.”

On Their 2021 Parade Homes: “One feature to highlight is wall detail used in several of our Parade of Home entries. There is board and batten in the foyer of 8774 Eliot Dr. (located in the Post at Glacier Pointe). There is square paneling in the study and great room at 6089 Victory Gate (located in the Nook at Highland Lakes). There is also a green accent wall in 5736 Butternut Dr. (located in Evans Farm). “A second exciting feature is next level storage in our Simplified Living homes. We’ve implemented storage solutions to help homeowners right-size. We always design homes with storage in mind, but we find that buyers can never seem to have enough, which has prompted us to devise bold new second-floor storage options. Our second-story storage solutions offer a bright, spacious, climatecontrolled space – easily accessible via a full-sized staircase – to store seldomused or seasonal items.”

On Their All-Time Most Interesting Projects: “Here are some of the ‘unusual’ requests we’ve accommodated, submitted by our new home consultants: • Extra-large pooja room (prayer room) for large groups • A 6’ x 6’ prayer room with one window facing east • 10’ first-floor ceilings and 9’ secondfloor ceilings in the same house • Double-sided fireplace from the great room to media room “We also have a customer who’s a Catholic nun and also a physician. Other nuns from the medical center where she works rent rooms from her. We built what she called a tabernacle in the flex room and turned it into a little church for them.” On Their 2021 Parade Homes: “Here are some of the features from this year’s Parade homes: • Timeless craftsman elevation that includes a large front porch with tapered columns • An open floor plan with large built-in kitchen and butler’s pantry • A home office just off the family entrance • A princess suite with private bath • A study loft • An open floor that shows nearly the entire first floor from the front door • An oversized owner’s bath that includes a freestanding soak tub”
