The 18 hole golf course on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles is well designed and professionally maintained with panoramic views of Stornoway Harbour and the Minch. At only 5252 yards it may appear short by modern standards but there are plenty of hazards for wayward shots including mature trees, heather and gorse. The clubhouse incorporates a golf shop that will provide visitors with a good selection of golfing merchandise, as well as club and trolley hire.

Tours Rising out of the Atlantic some 50 miles west of the Isle of Harris, St Kilda is one of the world class destinations for adventurous travellers. Once the most remote community in Britain, St Kilda is a dual UNESCO World Heritage Site, listed both for its natural environment and cultural significance. St Kilda’s breathtakingly wild landscape, cultural history and teeming wildlife have long fascinated explorers and naturalists. More than a million seabirds nest here each year, with the outlying island of Boreray and neighbouring sea stacks home to the world’s largest colony of gannets. Meanwhile, St Kilda’s fascinating human history can be explored on the main island of Hirta where the original village, with its neat street of cottages complete with church, school and feather store, has been carefully preserved by the National Trust for Scotland. There is also a museum with an exhibition of St Kildan life up to the poignant evacuation of the last islanders in 1930. And now you can visit this remarkable place for yourself with Kilda Cruises, a day trip to St Kilda is a ‘must do’ if you come to the Outer Hebrides.
