ENTICING FLAVORS. HIGH NOTES. PASSIONATE IMPACT. S E P T E M B E R - , euphoriagreenville.com

As busy as this year has been so far, in some ways, we’re just getting started… Each year, as we set out to plan euphoria, we strive to make it better than the year before. We are fortunate to have a solid foundation to build on, yet we always challenge ourselves to find ways to improve and make each year the “best euphoria yet”. euphoria2022 has already been record-breaking and award-winning, so it feels like we’re off to a good start.

For the first time since 2019, we’re hosting our full schedule of euphoria events. We have more than a dozen pre-festival events under our belts already this year, and we’re about to embark on 45 more over the course of four days. It’s not lost on us how fortunate we were to never have to cancel the festival or go a full year without euphoria events, but it sure does feel good to be back in full swing.

The year started with euphoria winning the Governor’s Cup Award, the highest honor in the tourism industry for the state of South Carolina. To have the festival recognized for its significant impact on Greenville’s hospitality & tourism industries, economic development, and quality of life, is a huge honor and certainly something to celebrate. I was also humbled and honored to be named the South Carolina honoree for USA Today’s Women of the Year, honoring strong and resilient women across the country who are champions of change.

We’re excited to kick things off with A Tyler Florence Homecoming in partnership with VisitGreenvilleSC, marking the first time the Food Network star and James Beardnominated Chef will host a wine dinner in his hometown during euphoria. This will also be the first time we’ve ever hosted 8 Michelin-starred chefs in one year, including three female chefs, and four Michelin chefs at one dinner. As far as we know, we’re the only festival in the U.S. to have that level of MICHELIN Guide involvement.

These awards are a reflection of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make euphoria happen every year, and the dedication of our incredible team of staff, board members, interns, community partners, participants, volunteers, and attendees. We couldn’t do this without you, and we want you to know how grateful we are!

We are hosting more guest chef dinners and classrooms than ever before, and celebrating a wide variety of diverse cuisine from our talented line-up of chefs. With specialities ranging from paella, seafood, Creole and vegan dishes to Asian, French and Spanish-inspired cuisine, it’s like a trip around the world for your tastebuds with beverage pairings to match.

Thanks to your unwavering support, we’ve been able to stay true to our mission, expand our impact, and give back more to our community than ever before. In 2022, we funded projects for four local nonprofits that will help at-risk children, provide access to fresh & affordable produce, teach healthy eating habits, and provide hands-on culinary training for students.

If you attended euphoria these past two years, thanks for sticking with us. If you haven’t been here in a while, welcome back. And if this is your first time joining us, welcome to euphoria2022! We are so glad each and every one of you is here.

Cheers to 17 years!

As busy as this year has been so far, in some ways, we’re just getting started… Morgan Allen, euphoria Executive Director

Each year, euphoria shines a spotlight on this gem of a city we are proud to call home. As much as we love bringing newcomers here to get a taste of Greenville’s magic, we’re also committed to making a strong economic impact and giving back to the community in which our festival was built.

the history of euphoria

euphoria was founded in 2006 by platinum-selling singer/songwriter Edwin McCain and prominent Greenville restaurateur, Table 301’s Carl Sobocinski. Even before Greenville’s famed revitalization, the pair knew that our quaint city was something to be celebrated. McCain and Sobocinski wanted others to see this potential too—and out of this desire, euphoria was born. What started as a passion project has grown into a highly-anticipated food, wine and music festival that shines a spotlight on Greenville’s thriving culinary arts scene, while raising money to pour back into the community. From tasting events, guest chef dinners and educational seminars held throughout the year—to the banner four-day festival in September featuring Michelin dinners, exclusive food & wine tastings, cooking demos, and intimate musical experiences—euphoria has become an integral part of Greenville’s tourism and hospitality industries, allowing locals and visitors alike to gather, celebrate and enjoy the best of what the city has to offer.

euphoria’s mission has four main objectives:

• To promote tourism in Greenville, SC • To create a destination event for food, wine, and music lovers across the country • To highlight the culinary and music arts community of Upstate South Carolina • To raise money to give back to the community Read more about our Community Impact on page 17.

a TASTE of euphoria

The carefully curated collection consists of 60 recipes from chefs & beverage professionals who’ve participated with us over the years. Recipes range from Starters & Small Plates to Main Dishes and Desserts – as well as Soups, Salads & Stews, Side Dishes, and of course, Cocktails. All proceeds will directly benefit our grant program with a focus on needs within the food & beverage industry. euphoria is a feeling. It happens when we come together to share the abundance between us and build our community. Megan Early-Soppa euphoria2022 Board Chairman

Being able to enjoy amazing meals, parties, and wine with my friends is just one of the many reasons I love euphoria. What keeps me coming back year after year, and even drove me to seek an opportunity to serve on the board, is how this organization gives so much back to the community it is based in.

What’s NOT to love about euphoria? Four magical days of celebrating 3 of my favorite things: food, wine & music! euphoria is such a special and unique event for Greenville, and top of mind for me as I reflect on what makes our destination so appealing to both locals and out-of-town visitors. This signature event brings many visitors to Greenville for the first time each year, and I truly believe that what they experience will bring them back again and again. I am very excited about our Tyler Florence Homecoming this year. What a treat to have our hometown boy back in town!

Michelin Two-Star Chef, Aquavit couldn’t wait to sign up to be part of it again this year. I loved the camaraderie between everyone and the heartfelt welcome I received from euphoria staff and guests alike. This year, I’m cooking alongside my friend, chef Daniel Boulud, for a dinner that’s sure to be the party of the weekend. I'm so excited to see what's in store for this year's festival.

In Kindermusik classes, children are introduced to new concepts and topics that help them gain a better understanding of themselves and the world around them. The program provides social-emotional stability, exercise and movement, and language and literacy benefits as well. Music is especially beneficial to the at risk population developmentally delayed, abused and neglected young children - served at A Child’s Haven.

The project impacts many of the Culinary & Hospitality Innovation Center’s offerings: short-term culinary industry job training in support of the local restaurant/hospitality industry; culinary summer camps for high school students; Lifestyle Medicine courses for medical students; and supplemental culinary education for West Greenville School students. Students learn valuable life skills, healthy eating habits, and gain job skills through hands-on culinary training.

COURTESY OF euphoria’s PRODUCERS CIRCLE MEMBERS FoodShare Greenville is combating healthy food insecurity by providing fresh produce at a deeply discounted rate for those who lack access to affordable, fresh produce. The program not only provides fresh produce, but educates and empowers customers with healthy and budget-friendly recipes for the whole family.

Funding will help mitigate the cost that Meyer Center currently incurs to provide daily snacks for students. The support means that more dollars go directly to the life changing therapies and special education services children receive while at the Meyer Center.
