WHAT’S HAPPENING AT WEINBERG COMMUNITY By Jennifer Weininger, Executive Director
October 2019
We hope everyone had a good holiday. Thank you to all our residents and guests who joined us for services, dinners, and Sukkot programming. Be on the lookout for information over the next few weeks on a staff holiday collection that Resident Council is organizing for all the hourly staff who care for you or your family member. Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation
The Deerfield Police Department launched a pill collection and disposal program in December 2010 sponsored by Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation. The purpose of this program is to collect and safely dispose of unwanted and unused medications, thus keeping them out of the public water systems and out of the hands of individuals who might otherwise become victims of prescription drug abuse. You may drop off your unused medications at the Front Desk and we will deliver them to the Deerfield Police Station. If you have any questions contact the Gidwitz Place Front Desk at 847.374.0500. Mahjong Tournament 2019
Another Annual Mahjong and Canasta Social Tournament is in the books! Thank you to everyone who came out to compete, socialize and join us for brunch!

wonderful friendships she has made here. Her advice for new residents is to take advantage of all activities because you will be sure to make friends and have fun! Paper Shredder
If you would like confidential papers shredded, you may bring them down to the Front Desk and the receptionist can shred them for you. If you would prefer your own paper shredder and need assistance ordering one please contact Stefanie Gall at 847.236.7781. Introducing the Weinberg App
Based off results from the satisfaction survey, we realize you would like more written communication. From this feedback we have implemented these monthly newsletters and our very own App! We are excited to announce we have launched a new app for Weinberg Community! With this App you can easily access our weekly events. The App can be found at the App Store by searching “Weinberg Community.” It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Androids. You can enter 123 as the passcode to gain access. Once you access the App, it will automatically bring you to the Gidwitz calendar. You can access the calendar for Friend Center by switching the settings to Memory Care located on the lower left hand side of the screen. We hope this helps our residents and families to stay more connected with their loved ones. If you have any questions or concerns about the App, you may call Stefanie Gall, Weinberg Liaison, at 847.236.7781.
