About Dr. Saleem Khan Founder and Chairperson of International Foundation for Mother and Child Health Dr Saleem Khan is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist working in England. He has over 17 years experience looking after mothers and children in Pakistan, UK and Europe. A strong belief in charity work and in an individual's ability to make a difference was an integral part of Dr Khan's upbringing. His inspiration has been his grandfather, Templet on Prize winner Dr. Inamullah Khan, founder and former Secretary-General of the World Muslim Congress, who devoted his life to working tirelessly to advance peace. A passion to improve the lives of vulnerable people is the driving force in Dr Saleem Khan's work. Dr Saleem Khan was involved in the earthquake relief work in Pakistan in 2005. He witnessed first-hand the hardships mothers and infants were facing due to the lack of maternity facilities and trained medical staff. Wanting to help, he initially designed and set up 16 delivery units in Kashmir through a project funded by Impact UK. Seeing the impact of this work on the health and wellbeing of mothers and infants drove Dr Khan to establish the International Foundation for Mother and Child Health.
