unjab Technical University (PTU) this afternoon signed an agreement with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) to foster entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education. Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor PTU and Partap Aggarwal, Chairman, TiE-Chandigarh formally signed the agreement at the UT Guest House. Speaking on the occasion Dr Arora said that PTU intends to promote entrepreneurship in the region since the country needs more and more job providers than the job seekers, which would be accelerated through a symbiotic
relationship with TiE. TiE would assist PTU in upgrading syllabus as per the industry needs and enable students become employable shall also help develop online interaction through efficient deployment of IT and integrating social media. Those present on the occasion included Dr. A.P. Singh, Dean RIC, PTU, and TiE’s representatives President Partap Aggarwal, vice president Ajay Tewari, Alok Ramsisaria, J.B. Singh, Gurmeet Chawla, Sumeer Walia, Manish Trehan, Chandra Mohan, amongst others.

Ketan Bhagat shares Creativity Tips
A
uthor of recently published “Complete/ Convenient”, Ketan Bhagat was in the city on an invite of Punjab and Haryana Chapter of The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE) and Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS). Speaking to the startups and entrepreneurs, he said that the initial idea is possibly a part of logical thinking, but implementing the idea and ability to monetize it requires creativity, he said. Being creative is an ongoing process of thinking outside the box in order to continue to develop new approaches of making your enterprise successful, Ketan said.
Joining the breed of young authors in the country, Ketan works for an MNC in Mumbai as sales manager, and has done stints in television as an anchor and script writer besides writing articles for national dailies. Having worked abroad for seven years, Ketan decided to return to India unable to contain the feeling of 'completeness' that India gives no matter how chaotic, crowded, and difficult Indian life is. “Every Indian living abroad howsoever successful he/she may be, misses India tremendously,” he said, which he depicted in his book “Complete/Convenient”.

Retail E-Commerce: A Leap into the Future

The 60 percent of the web users in India are the one who visit the eretail outlets yet there is immense potential for every possible industry and service sector to grow, Reshma said. Mr. I.S. Paul, managing director Drish Shoes, underlined the exploding ecommerce market which offers immense potential for business and invited young entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity which is predicted to grow from $3 trillion to $10 trillion in just one decade with India and China leading the pack.
