The satellite towns serve the city like easily replaceable components inside a large machine. However, it creates a linear and homogeneous living style that majority of the population will live in similar h igh -rise resid ent ial t owers and experience similar d aily life even living in d if f e re n t n e i g h b o u r h o o d s . (Re) Construct Natural Heritage_ Urban Renewal in Hutong, Beijing In Chinese Classic Garden, folding, overlapping, interface and juxtaposition are characteristics in attempt to enlarge the spatial experience by creating a variety of views and perspectives. The folding of space provides places for people to gather and meet and present the idea of nature with the limited space. We try to understand the morphology of form and space in Chinese classical garden, by exploring the spatial arrangement in detail. The design experiments such morphology as an urban renewal strategy in the context of hutong in Beijing.
