HIGHER DIPLOMA IN SCIENCE IN DATA ANALYTICS QQI LEVEL 8
The Higher Diploma in Data Analytics programme equips students with the skills to be effective in the world of data analytics. Springboard students generally already have strong mathematical competence and through the course learn statistical and problemsolving skills for business analysis. Through the course they utilise machine learning application software environments such as Weka, R, RapidMiner for data mining and data visualisation. Their assessments will require them to acquire a set of raw data; design, develop, and document a process for preparing the data through to implementing an interactive, or a number of static data visualizations; analyse the results; and provide an evaluation of the correct use of data and visual techniques that were implemented.The course is aimed at enabling students to understand and use business data to deliver better decisionmaking. Students from this course have gone on to work for large multinationals as well as SME and start up businesses as data analysts, business analysts, project managers and consultants.
