JAMESTOWN SOURCE GUIDE

WHAT’S INSIDE

We are called the “Buffalo City” for the World’s Largest Buffalo and North American Bison Discovery Center.

The Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse is fully restored and ADA accessible. It is older than the state of North Dakota.

Jamestown has a population of over 15,000 people.

Jamestown is considered North Dakota’s Motorsports Capital.

Peggy Lee was born in Jamestown in 1920 as Norma Delores Egstrom.

Louis L’Amour grew up in Jamestown, born in 1908.

Jamestown has over 35 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails as well as walking paths at most parks.

Jamestown is home to the St. James Basilica, the only basilica in the state.

Jamestown has a kayak water trail with launch docks and kayak rentals from Nickeus Park to Klaus Park.

Many who settled in Jamestown immigrated from Germany or were Germans from Russia.

This guide was published and produced in collaboration between The Jamestown Sun and Jamestown Tourism. Photos throughout the guide were provided by Jamestown Tourism, Warren Abrahamson, Kiella Lawrence, The Jamestown Sun, John M Steiner, Christian Cairy, Happy Mermaid Images, and Searle Swedlund.
