Centre for Culture and Development (CKU)

CKU supports art, culture and creative industries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. As a self-governing institution under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CKU cooperates with Danish Embassies and Representations. CKU implements the Danish strategy for culture and development, ‘The Right to Art and Culture’ through Culture and Development Programmes in The Middle East, Asia, West Africa, and East Africa. Projects and activities are implemented in close collaboration with local partner organisations. In Denmark, CKU promotes art from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East through the Images Biennale, education material, and artistic collaboration projects.
