Our Post-Harvest Inspection Programs When one harvest ends, it’s time to start planning for the next one – this is the principle behind the CLAAS Harvest Centre post-harvest inspection, a service that analyses the technical condition of your machine in detail immediately after the season on the basis of a list of specific check items. The Post-Harvest Inspection follows the CLAAS prescribed schedule and ensures all areas of potential wear and damage are assessed and reported.

Our Inspection Process Inspection and diagnosis Our service experts will come and inspect your machine using supplier diagnosis systems such as CLAAS INSPECTION PILOT to check the machine against supplier machine configuration based on hours run. This forms the basis of a specific list of check items, so that all the relevant points are indicated and undergo diagnostic analysis within the context of the post-harvest check.

Documentation & Estimate The results of the post-harvest inspection are recorded by the service technician and any weak points, defects or wear are documented and photographed. Our Service team then consolidate the results of the inspection into a report that documents the recommended repair work along with itemised cost estimates. Checking & diagnosis

Consultation On completion of the inspection report the service specialist will work with you to decide the best course of action in accordance with your operating conditions and agree a recommended course of action tailored for you.

Acceptance of Estimate

Once you have accepted the agreed post-harvest repair plan, our Parts team will secure the parts required and the Service team will plan your repair slot to ensure we have you ready for the next harvest.

Service Carried Out

As we progress with your post-harvest repair, our Service team will keep you updated with progress and any unexpected issues we find.

have been doing post-harvest maintenance “ We inspections for the past five years. We know the

dealership has time pressures before and during harvest and so do we, so it makes sense to get things done proactively. Preventative maintenance is essential - you’ve got to stay on top of things or you are going to have problems during harvest. The cost is nothing in the scheme of things. A postharvest service is a cheap insurance policy against downtime during the next harvest. I am happy to leave it to the experts and I can concentrate on other things here on the farm. CLAAS QUADRANT Winter Service The clean lines of the CLAAS QUADRANT baler mask the complexity of the mechanism that lies beneath. With its industry-leading single knot tying system and pressures that crops can place on the overall machine components and synchronisation, regular comprehensive winter servicing is critical in ensuring maximum inseason uptime. When you consider the complexity of the operation of your QUADRANT baler, it’s only right that our winter service inspection checklist reflects this. And so, our technicians carry out a 45-point inspection, looking at all areas of your machine to identify any wear or damage.

Transmission/clutch/universal drive

As well as inspecting and adjusting the baler, we change all the oils and filters and fully lubricate the moving parts. CLAAS ORIGINAL Parts It’s not just about the dimensions of the machine parts. Getting the materials and processing exactly right is just as important for the reliable operation of machinery over many years. These parts are made from superior-quality materials precisely to CLAAS specifications, with proven CLAAS know-how. Every part integrates perfectly into the machine as a whole. Customised CLAAS ORIGINAL parts are precision-manufactured, high-quality series components for CLAAS machines.

Reliable CLAAS ORIGINAL parts have a longer life cycle and protect the machine from mechanical failure.

Efficient CLAAS ORIGINAL parts are renowned for their high cost-effectiveness, and quality that pays off.

WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED. Purchase Genuine Parts from CLAAS Harvest Centre and get six months warranty on over-the-counter purchases or a 12 month warranty of parts fitted by a CLAAS Harvest Centre technician. Since 2010, working in partnership with the Rendsburg branch of DEULA (German Training Centres for Agricultural Engineering), CLAAS has carried out intensive field tests with CLAAS ORIGINAL parts and non-genuine parts. The testing process places great emphasis on using the parts in parallel under identical conditions to accurately compare them and carry out a reliable assessment of their performance. The documented results show that, apart from lower costs per hectare, CLAAS ORIGINAL parts offer much more: • Maintenance of the machine’s full performance • Reduced fuel and maintenance costs • Optimal work quality

• Longer service life • Very high campaign performance Below is a summary of results of tests carried out by machine. More information is available at claas.com.au.

LEXION ORIGINAL Knife Blades • • • • •

Less breakage Longer service life and period of use Reduced changeover times (negative costs) Maximum area output ORIGINAL: 7% breakage; Non-genuine: 60% breakage. The increased breakage of the nongenuine blades necessitates more frequent replacement of the knife blades and leads to more idle time during harvesting. Furthermore, there is increased wear of the double fingers and the knife drive.

ORIGINAL Double Fingers • Sharper chop • Lower fuel requirement • Reduced load on the knife drive (knife heads and blade transmission) • Maximum service life • CLAAS ORIGINAL double fingers have a predetermined breaking point. The knife guide remains intact in the event of contact with a foreign body, thereby preventing costly consequential damage. The absence of a predetermined breaking point means that the knife guide bar can bend on contact with a foreign body, thereby impairing the knife guide function. This can cause costly consequential damage to the knife drive.

ORIGINAL Straw Chopper Knives • • • •

Optimum chop quality Optimum straw distribution Excellent work quality for straw incorporation Lower fuel consumption

ORIGINAL Intake Chains • • • •

Less wear Longer service life and period of use Reduced changeover times Reduced wear on chain sprockets

ORIGINAL Drum Belts • • • • • •

Exact dimensions Optimal power transmission Very high tear strength Temperature resistance Lower fuel consumption CLAAS ORIGINAL drum belts have side contact areas which are up to 10% larger which leads to

lower wear, a longer service life, optimal power transmission and fuel savings

ORIGINAL Filters • • • • •

Higher filtration performance Lower suction resistance Up to 10% less fuel consumption* Reduced cleaning effort Reduced changing times

JAGUAR ORIGINAL Maize Knives

• Longer service life, thanks to more stable coating • Lower assembly costs, thanks to longer intervals between changeovers • Fewer sharpening cycles, thanks to better coating • Reduced fuel consumption, thanks to a sharper chop • Improved chop quality, thanks to finer manufacturing tolerances

ORIGINAL Grass Knives

• Fewer sharpening cycles • Higher output per hectare • Longer-lasting sharpness for lower fuel consumption • Reduced load on the drive train

Notification of maintenance Using the Remote Service function, your machine notifies your CLAAS workshop ahead of the scheduled maintenance interval. The maintenance intervals are also listed in the machine documentation. Regular, professional maintenance minimises the possibility of downtime, as any absence of consumables or worn parts can be detected at an early stage.

Arrangement of appointment Alerted by the maintenance notification, the CLAAS service team gets in touch with you at an early stage so that there is a high level of flexibility for arranging the appointment. This ensures that you are able to make maximum use of your machine.

Maintenance schedule The standard scope of the maintenance service includes the general machine inspection as well as activities such as the replacement of individual wear parts, updating of software, adjustment of important components and checking of fluids.

Preparation for maintenance Advance planning ensures that the service technician is fully informed about the required tasks while the digital machine history provides a fast, accurate impression of your machine, so the Service team is able to prepare the CLAAS ORIGINAL consumables and parts in good time for the maintenance service.

Performance of maintenance Our maintenance program goes far beyond the requirements of the operator’s manual. As well as performing the many different maintenance tasks, our service technicians provide you with comprehensive advice specific to your situation. Their knowledge also comprises the latest information and feedback from the global CLAAS network. What’s more, they have the necessary specialist tools to get the job done efficiently.
