Performance counts. Gearing you up for success.
“A side-by-side demonstration showed we were saving a litre of fuel for every tonne harvested and losing at least a third less grain. It didn’t take long to figure out we would be able to save about $40,000 a year.” Derek and Clinton Tiller Pinery, SA Read the full story at goLEXION.com.au
A force in Australian harvesting Many companies have a history. Some of them have made history. But only a select few have had such a sustained influence on the history of agriculture as CLAAS. August Claas established his engineering works in 1913 to manufacture straw balers. His development of a simple knotter in 1921 proved to be the start of a long history of innovation. CLAAS manufactured its first combine harvester in 1936. Since then, the combine harvester has been inseparably linked to the CLAAS name. All told, the company has produced more than 475,000 combine harvesters for use throughout the world.

CLAAS has been a harvesting force in Australia since 1951, with its SUPER, EUROPA, COLUMBUS, MATADOR, SENATOR, MERCATOR, DOMINATOR and LEXION series all earning hard-won reputations for performance, efficiency, productivity and reliability. Under the stewardship of August’s son, Helmut Claas, CLAAS has grown to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural engineering equipment. Recognised as of the world’s most influential agricultural engineers, Helmut played a direct role in the development of the world-famous DOMINATOR combine harvester (1970), JAGUAR forage harvester (1983), QUADRANT square baler (1988), XERION advanced technology tractor (1993) and LEXION combine harvester (1995).

CLAAS has been proudly represented by Landpower, the largest privately-owned farm machinery distributorship in Australasia, since 1997. Today, its CLAAS Harvest Centre network employs more than 400 farm machinery professionals at 33 locations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
After-sales service has been a top priority from the beginning.
“We chose the LEXION 760 for its versatility. It’s got the capacity to handle heavy conditions or fast operating speeds. It can handle anything you can throw at it.” Sam Downie Hamilton, Tas Read the full story at goLEXION.com.au
Pushing the boundaries CLAAS LEXION is universally recognised as the world’s most advanced, efficient and productive harvesting platform. Launched in 1995 after a decade of development, it was the first combine harvester to feature the unique HYBRID accelerated pre-separation threshing and twin rotor separation system. Approximately 70 per cent of grain separation occurs before the crop reaches the rotors, allowing LEXION to operate more efficiently and longer in all conditions. CLAAS is still the only manufacturer to offer both systems in the one machine.
1995: The legend begins.
Boasting a 375 hp engine and 7.5 m cutterbar, LEXION 480 delivered an unheard-of throughput of 40 tonnes per hour. It was also the first model to incorporate onboard electronic control, monitoring and guidance systems. The launch of the LEXION 500 series in 2003 pushed the boundaries even further. In 2008, a LEXION 580 set a Guinness world record by harvesting 532.1 tonnes in eight hours (66.5 t/h). This was followed by the LEXION 600, the world’s first Class 9 combine harvester. With its 586 hp engine, 10.5 m variable cutterbar and 12,000 litre grain tank capacity, it was the first combine harvester capable of harvesting up to 70 tonnes of grain per hour.
2012: A new Australian harvesting benchmark.
LEXION 700, released in 2010, set even higher benchmarks for productivity. In 2012, a CLAAS LEXION 770 TERRA TRAC set another Guinness world record by harvesting 675.8 t of wheat in eight hours (84.5 t/h). In 2012, two CLAAS LEXION 750 TERRA TRAC combine harvesters recorded an average throughput of 44.6 tonnes per hour for 10 hours at Coonamble, NSW. In 2016, the 60,000th LEXION – fittingly, a top-of-the-line LEXION 780 TERRA TRAC – left the production line in the presence of Helmut Claas and his daughter, Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser.
2016: The 60,000th LEXION leaves the production line.

NEW FOR 2018!
CONVIO draper front CLAAS CONVIO and CONVIO FLEX 1380, 1230 and 1080 draper fronts ensure smooth, reliable crop flow with minimal grain loss, even in lighter conditions or direct-cut canola. CONVIO has a rigid knife bar that is ideal for use in cereals and canola. CONVIO FLEX features a flexible knife bar, table and side belts that enable the cutterbar to flex up to 90 mm upwards and 135 mm downwards, making it ideal to harvest pulse crops or lodged cereals or pulse crops that need to be harvested closer to the ground. CONVIO cutterbars provide the operator with a variety of assistance systems which can be operated from inside the cab. These include automatic reel torque control, automatic belt speed and AUTO CONTOUR FLEX, which ensures that the cutterbar is automatically adjusted to the optimal configuration.
VARIO variable cutterbar CLAAS VARIO 1380, 1230 and 1080 variable cutterbars deliver optimum performance in all crops and harvesting conditions. They can be adjusted from -10 cm to +60 cm ‘on the go’ for optimum throughput, flexibility and ease of operation. VARIO cutterbars are controlled from inside the cabin using the multi-function CMOTION lever. This new design means side-knives can be easily fitted without needing to use tools, saving even more time.
CLAAS LEXION does more The superior performance of CLAAS LEXION 700 combine harvester allows you to harvest more grain per hectare, cover more hectares per hour and operate for more hours per day. Here’s proof. The following table presents ‘real world’ harvesting data from CLAAS LEXION 700 combine harvesters equipped with TELEMATICS remote monitoring technology. It contains harvesting data drawn from locations throughout Australia. This table confirms CLAAS LEXION 700 combine harvesters achieve extremely high throughput for hours on end (in some cases, around the clock), handle peak loads with ease and deliver unparalleled fuel efficiency. We think you’ll be impressed – and even more so when you experience an on-farm demonstration this harvest. All it takes is a phone call.

CLAAS LEXION costs less Whichever way you look at it – cost per hour, cost per hectare or cost per tonne – CLAAS LEXION 700 sits on the right side of the ledger. Your local CLAAS Harvest Centre can show you the true cost of owning and operating a new CLAAS LEXION 700 combine harvester compared to your existing machine. You’re in for a real surprise. The CLAAS LEXION Value Calculator compares six models in the CLAAS LEXION 700 series with more than 30 different models from other manufacturers. Importantly, these calculations are based on your information and assumptions. Your existing combine harvester and front. Your crop sizes, yields, operating speed and grain losses. Your operating costs, including fuel, parts and service. Your financial details, including trade-in, down payment, depreciation, interest rates and terms. We’ve found that even small differences in throughput, fuel efficiency and grain loss means the cost-of-ownership can vary by up to 20 percent between different makes and models. These differences can easily add up to more than $100,000 over three, four or five years. These potential savings can be even greater once trade-ins, the ability to replace two single rotor combine harvesters with a single LEXION 700 combine harvester or the opportunity to expand your cropping operation are considered.
The hidden cost of grain loss Grain losses during harvesting can seriously impact crop profitability. CLAAS LEXION allows you to precisely monitor and adjust the front, drum, concave and sieve settings to minimise grain loss. Or choose the optional CLAAS Electronic Machine Optimisation System (CEMOS), which automatically adjusts the settings to maximise grain quality, throughput or fuel efficiency. Independent testing conducted in 2017 on a leading corporate farm showed LEXION reduced grain losses by an impressive 3.4% compared to a single rotor combine harvester operating in the same paddock. In a crop yielding 2 t/ha worth $350/t, even a 1% reduction in grain loss can be worth $7/ha. That equates to $14,000 a year in a 2000 ha crop or $70,000 over five years. Ask your CLAAS dealership or agronomist to undertake a grain loss assessment of your combine harvester – or even better, a side-by-side demonstration with CLAAS LEXION this season.
