BO JOE
Bo Joe is renowned for his mastery of precious metals and gemstones, notably turquoise, with creations that come in the form of little, hand sculptures. Using traditional tufa casting, Bo draws upon his Diné and Ute descent. Growing up in a family that celebrated the arts, Bo landed on jewelry as his expression of choice following a successful career in music. Bo’s work has transcended into individual works of fine art — sculpture made to be worn. A oneness with his materials and observance of cultural tradition has led Bo to create masterworks in metal and stone.

TUFA CASTING
Tufa casting is a method southwestern tribes utilized to create ornamental pieces. Tufa is volcanic ash condenced into stone. Designs are handcarved into the stones, then used to cast various precious metals.
Unlike other casting methods, the Tufa cast itself is destroyed in the procress, creating individual works of wearable art.
