GENDER STEREOTYPES
CLOTHING STEREOTYPES
Clothing ia a very horribly ‘gendered’ thing in this world and some people struggle to fight against these stereotypes because they have always had opinions and thought forced onto them by the media and also other people around them. Girls should always wear dresses and be feminine and pink is their colour whereas boys can wear jeans or trousers with a normal tshirt. Blue is the colour for boys and this is how it should always be for everyone. NO, this is what is expected of everyone
but not actually how it is supposed to be. Everyone and anyone can wear what they want, how they want and should never be judged on it. But this would only be an ieal would, not what the real world involves. Trainers are not just for boys and heels not just for girls. Boys are able to wear makeup if they want to and girls don’t have to, because all that matters is that everyone is comfortable.

GENDER STEREOTYPES
Stereotypes are damaging because they limit a person’s potential. Stereotypes can also limit how we express ourselves. For example, gender stereotypes about girls say that they should look feminine, have long hair, shave their legs, wear feminine clothes, etc. This can limit how girls and women choose to express their gender.
Personality Traits: Women are supposed to be shy, passive and submissive. Men are expected to be tough, aggressive, dominant and self-confident, but also very messy and lazy. Gender stereotypes are a real issue and it makes certain people feel insecure with who they are because of how society expects them to be.
Hair styles are one of the first thing people look at, maybe even without realising, when assuming a gender based on the appearance of a person. Short hair is usually seen as a masculine thing for men to have whereas women are expected to have long hair as it is seen as a lot more feminine.
