Gender In Cosmetics a study by Claire Tschampel
“I use products that are gentle on my skin but will keep it looking even and clean. I identify as a
woman.
“Most of the products I use daily are chosen based on their scent (the deodorant, cologne, and Epsom salt wash namely). The hair products I use because I have found I like them more than generic brands. They don’t leave me greasy at the end of the day and, again, they smell nice. The beard oil I use because what little sad facial hair I have gets itchy and uncomfortable. The
face serum alleviates dry face skin, which sucks to have. Tooth brush and tooth paste cuz I like having teeth. I identify as a

“I indentify as

“Gender identity I’m a girl. isn’t a huge topic and I’m for me. But straight.”
“I’m a cis woman, but I don’t express myself as
very feminine through clothes. But I do spend $50+ per month on my hair, which is the main thing makeup I wear that makes me feel beautiful and is to make my eyebrows and like a woman, eyelashes match and the only my dyed hair.”
“I use products that make my sensitive skin look and feel better.
I identify as a woman
“I am a queer cis woman.

This is my face. I don’t have a gender identity, since gender is a social construct and tool of oppression against women as a class. Which does not mean that I hate people who do define themselves via gender identity. They have their reasons for feeling that life is more livable that way and I respect that, as long as sex based oppression of women isn’t denied (we’re oppressed because of our reproductive capacities,
because we have vulvas and uteruses - not cause we’re feminine.. Especially since tons of women reject femininity). I’m female, because that is my sex.
“I am a straight woman who identifies as
a feminine

“I don’t use many cosmetic products like make up. But if it makes other people happy to use them, then more power to those people. I believe that a person’s gender is whatever they say it is. Even if the person’s look doesn’t fit the “traditional” look of whatever gender they identify as.
No one else can tell you what your gender is. That’s for each person to decide.”
“Personally I find identifying as a woman to be restrictive. I feel that so much of my worth is based on my imperfections, especially physical imperfections. I wish that I didn’t feel pressure to look perfect for
people to take me seriously. I wish that wasn’t the first thing people noticed about me”
“I identify as female.”
“Do whatever makes you most happy and comfortable, unless that includes being a dick to others, in which case go “I identify as fuck yourself.” a man.”
“I like to use products that are gentle and natural. I identify as a

“Gender is fun! I’m still absolutely exploring the nuances of mine as a gay male identifying person. I keep finding more fluidity as I grow older and more confident with myself. As a kid I used to have little spa days for myself (I was an only child. I had way too much alone time) and I lived with my single mother so I’d always use all of her beauty and bath supplies. I think as a young queer person
being able to experiment and play with my gender identity in the privacy of a locked bathroom was always liberating and I still love my bath time.”
