WANT MORE MOTIVATED EMPLOYEES? Personally take the time to say “thank you” for work well done or extra effort. Do it often and with sincerity. Listen to your employees’ concerns, problems, issues and needs. Don’t just give them lip service but realize they are real for them. Give specific feedback. Tell them when they are doing things right or well, and tell them when they need to change behavior. Remember, you get the behavior you reward. Recognize, promote and reward high performers. Keep your employees well informed about organization direction, growth plans, etc. Involve employees in decisions that affect them or that they must carry out. Provide adequate and ongoing job skills and general training that will improve their attitudes. Training is seen by many employees as an excellent benefit and contributes to employee loyalty. “Personal growth is not an option for success in the future; it is a requirement.” –Tim Connor, CSP
