Chilton County Chamber of Commerce From the Director... By now you have seen Shop Local materials (banners, billboards, signs and decals) distirubuted throughout our county. These items are reminders that we should consider spending our dollars locally...that we need to keep our tax dollars at home. Taxes paid here will fund our parks, streets, fire protection, police protection and much more.

So as you think “back to school”, please remember that our Shop Local campaign can significantly impact our hometown economy. It’s up to us to support this initiative in Chilton County. You can really make a difference.

Chamber Happenings we should know why a chamber is necessary Each year, prospective members ask a common question, “Tell me why we need a Chamber of Commerce?” That question is usually followed with ‘What will the Chamber do for me?” In order to have an active, growing area in which to live, we must have an organization like the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is the place people turn to when they suddenly find out that the working spouse has been transferred here. We answer their letters and send brochures on our city, school systems, recreational facilities, and anything else that they may request. We are the place folks call when they need to know who sells a particular item and where they are located. We are the place people turn to when they want to start a new business and they don’t know what to do first. When a new industry wants to locate in our area, or one of our present firms need to expand, we are one of the places they can turn to for help. The final answer to both questions is simple. The Chamber of Commerce does all the little detail tasks that must be done if we are to be a city in motion. We are your Chamber of Commerce. Come visit our office and you will see why many people are working to keep our area moving ahead.
