Gay West, with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and your Chamber of Commerce will once again team up in 2012 to sponsor a Chilton Leadership class. This effort began in 1998 and has graduated almost 200 local citizens who want to step up to the next level of leadership in our community. Many of the graduates have taken the challenge and you see them today on your city and town councils, as your state representative, and in other places of leadership.

The areas of focus in this program are education, economic development, public safety, government, health and human services, and history. It’s a great program that allows participants to acquire knowledge, experience and a broader understanding of the challenges and opportunities that face Chilton County today and in the near future.

Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC) announced that the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has appointed Connie Bainbridge as Southern Division Alliance Public Sector Co-Chair for a one-year term beginning May 20, 2012. In this volunteer role, Bainbridge will represent the interests of owners, developers, investors, marketers and other retail specialists across the state of Alabama.
