Mobile phones • Switched off and put away at all times when on site. • Phones will be confiscated if seen or heard. Things to consider when buying a device: • Which phone to get? – Does your daughter need internet access? • Check for adult content filters, privacy settings and set up parental controls on your home broadband. • Choosing a network – some tariffs offer family plans and safety features. • Agree when and how will be used – student/parent contract.
Rules for mobile phone use It’s a good idea to discuss and agree on mobile phone rules with your child. These might be rules about what she can use her phone for, where and when she can use it, and how much she can spend on usage. Here are some examples of mobile phone rules to consider: • What: your child can and can’t use the phone for? E.g. downloading films, sharing photos • Where: Family areas of the house? Walking on the street? In her room? • When: Before school? After school? Not between 8am and 7pm?
