What is it?

Clarence River, boat and landbased. Accessed via the Summerland Way from Grafton and Woodford Dale Road and the Lawrence ferry from Maclean. Where is it? Sportsman’s Creek is located at the southern end of Lawrence.

What’s there?

Lawrence has picnic areas and a jetty on the Clarence River banks. There is also a general store, pub and the historic Sportsman’s Bridge. What fish should I target?

Flathead, Bream and maybe Jewfish. Good Bass fishing in Sportsman’s Creek (in season of course). What bait should I use?

Fresh and live prawns. What lures are best?

Deep diving luPires for Bass, and soft plastics for Flathead. Best time to fish?

From late spring for Flathead. What dream fish might I catch?

Big Bass, Bream and Jewfish.

Great for kids to learn the ropes fishing from the shoreline. Check the birdlife in the wetland near the post office. Picnic areas provide plenty of shade.
