Take the Plunge! Welcome to the Clarence Valley Plunge Art & Culture Festival for 2021. We are thankful that our art and cultural businesses have rallied to bring you events after the cancellation of the 2020 festival. This guide will help you plan your festival experience and make the most of the many cultural events, workshops and exhibitions available here in the Clarence. It’s been an important 12 months for art and culture in the Clarence Valley and for showcasing the resilience of our community. We have a rich and diverse culture and Clarence Valley Council is proud to support the local businesses and arts practitioners who keep art and culture alive with the Plunge festival. This program is for our community and visitors to the Clarence, and extends from March 26 to April 30, 2021. There is something for everyone – workshops, exhibitions, shows, talks, entertainment and music. Try learning a new craft, take in a show or live performance, pick up a new piece of art for your walls, and share your experiences on one of our social media pages. I look forward to joining you out and about for Plunge 2021. Make sure you come and say g’day. Jim Simmons Mayor

How to use this book The plunge festival is a collection of Arts & Cultural events right across the Clarence Valley during the month of April. Also included are some fringe events in later in the year so you can take advantage of what’s on offer beyond the festival dates. Events are listed by category and generally in date order with the earliest events first. You’ll find plenty of pages throughout the book to make notes about events you don’t want to miss. This book is also online at www.clarence.nsw.gov.au/plunge where you will find most of the links to ticketing or event websites. Workshops can get booked out so make sure you reserve your spot early to avoid any disappointment. Have a wonderful plunge festival!
