BRICKFIELD’S INTERPRETATION & RE-INTERPRETATION SITE SECTION - URBAN CONDITIONS AT BRICKFIELD AREA. THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT OF BRICKFIELD UNFOLDS AND ARTICULATES PHYSICALLY A CONDITION OF BEING TOGETHER, SHARING OF SPACE AND HABIT. VISIBLE FOR SOME AND INVISIBLE FOR OTHERS, BY OBSERVING AND ABSTRACTING THE UNUSUAL WITHIN EVERY DAY, WE ARE LOOKING AT AN ELEMENT WITHIN THE MATRIX OF ISSUES. WE INTEND TO INITIATE FORMAL, MATERIAL, AND STRUCTURAL THOUGHTS, THROUGH SUBJECTIVE INTERPRETATION, JUDGMENT OF SCALE AS WELL AS VISUAL AND MATERIAL REPRESENTATION. CRITICALLY REFLECT ON KEY RELEVANT QUALITIES AND QUESTIONS OF URBANISMS, FOR AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE SEMESTER WORK.
01
CROSS THE BRICKFIELD. 3 SECTIONS (3 LAYERS) WITH DIFFERENT SPEEDS, INTENSITIES AND ASSUMPTIONS, ACCORDING TO PATH, INTERESTS, OBSERVATIONS AND IMAGINATIONS. • EXPLORING DIFFERENT METHODOLOGIES
3
ARCHITECTURE COLOUR
BRICKFIELD AND THE NEW SURROUNDING DEVELOPMENT HAVE A VERY CONTRAST SCENERY AND JUST DIVIDED BY A DRIVEWAY.THE COLOURFULL OF ARCHITECTURE SHOWN IN THE BRICKFIELD AREA BUT ON ANOTHER SIDE, FULL OF GLASS, AND SIMILARITY COLOR ALONG WITH THE NEW DEVELOPMENT.WITHIN THE BRICKFIELD AREA, THERE HAVE VERY LESS OF GREENERY CAN BE FOUND.GREENERY CANNOT BE REMOVED IN THE URBAN DESIGN NOWADAYS WHICH CAN BE EASILY SEEN IN THE CITY PLANNING.
4
RELIGIOUS
BRICKFIELD IS A VERY SPECIAL SITE WHICH HAS A LOT OF RELIGIOUS ARCHITECTURE WITHIN THE SMALL AREA. BESIDE THE BRICKFIELD, THE NORMAL RELIGIOUS BUILDING IS ALWAYS ATTRACTING SINGLE RACES ONLY; BUT WITHIN THE BRICKFIELD, THE RELIGIOUS BUILDING WHO CAME FOR PRAY IS MORE THAN 1 RACE. WHICH MEANS THAT THE MOSQUE SHOULD BE USED BY MALAY, BUT IN THE BRICKFIELD, MOSQUE ARE FULL OF INDIAN AND MALAY. THE HARMONY BETWEEN THE RACES ARE VERY STRONG CAN BE SEEN IN THE BRICKFIELD.
5
HUMAN MOVEMENT
THE INTERACTION WOULD NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE HIGH CONTRAST SITUATION BETWEEN BRICKFIELD AND NEW DEVELOPMENT. THE HUMAN MOVEMENT IS VERY BALANCED ALTHOUGH THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT CENTURY ARCHITECTURE STYLE AND CULTURE. THE HUMAN FLOW FROM HIGH RISE BUILDING TO THE BRICKFIELD FOR LUNCH, REST, OR PRAY. HUMAN MOVEMENT FROM BRICKFIELD TO SHOPPING CENTER TO ENJOY COMFORTABLE TECHNOLOGY (AIR CONDITIONER), SPECIAL CUISINE, OR OTHER HIGHER QUALITY OF LIFE ACTIVITY.
6
BRICKFIELD’S SITE STUDY BRICKFIELDS IS ALSO TAGGED AS A "DIVINE LOCATION" AS MANY RELIGIOUS STRUCTURES, SOME OVER 100 YEARS OLD, ARE CONCENTRATED IN THE AREA, PARTICULARLY JALAN BERHALA. WE ARE TO UNDERSTAND THE CURRENT SITUATION OF WORK-SHIP PLACES AS A COMMUNITY CENTER.

36
RELIGION COMMUNAL HUB CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS INFLUENCE THE INTENDED PROGRAM AND DESIGN ON ANY SITE, WHILST THE INTERVENTION AND INJECTION OF ANY PROGRAM INFLUENCE THE FUTURE BEHAVIOUR OF THE SITE AND ITS URBAN FABRIC. PROPOSE A SITE RESPONSE IN A CONCEPTUAL MASTER-PLANNING. TAILOR ANALYTICAL RESPONSE IN A PRIORITIZED MANNER IN WHAT TRIGGERS / INFLUENCES THE PLANNING STRATEGY. IN THIS STAGE WE USE THE BRIEFING INFORMATION TO ANALYSE THE PROJECT SCOPE. SITE, CLIMATIC CONDITIONS, BUILDING ORIENTATION, URBAN FABRIC, SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY ASPECTS AND VIEWS ARE TO BE CONSIDERED IN LIEU WITH THE PROGRAMS/SPACES. BUDDILIIOUS IS THE BUDDISM + COMMUNITY HUB. THE SITE IS LOCATED IN A CHINESE VILLAGE WHICH MEANS THAT THE HIGHEST POPULATION IS CHINESE. THE RELIGIOUS TEMPLE IS A FACILITY TO SERVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES. THE AIM OF THE BUDDHIST HUB IS TO SPREAD THE KNOWLEDGE OF BUDDHISM TO OTHER RACES, ALLOW THEM TO UNDERSTAND RELIGIONS OF BUDDHISM.
07
THE BUDDILIGIOUS PROVIDED PROPER PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY AND GARDENING TO ALLOW COMMUNITIES TO WALK OUT FROM THEIR PRIVATE ZONE (HOME) AND INTERACTION WITH THE COMMUNITIES. THE GARDENING WITH GREENERY IS THE WAY TO REDUCE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE SITE AND PROVIDE COMFORTABLE OPEN SPACE FOR THE COMMUNITIES. THE AIM DESIGN PROVIDES A GOOD ENVIRONMENT FOR THE COMMUNITIES TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.
