What Is it?
• Is a genre of popular music which originated in its modern form in 1950s, deriving from rock & roll.
Cultural origins • 1950s, United Kingdom and United States.
The popular music or pop music, is one of the musical genres mostly spread among the youth who likes music world wide.
• Was in 20th century when the pop music became in a reality of consumption for the global audience, for the creation of the music industry. In 1980 there are two large icons Madonna & Michael Jackson which marked this type of music. Also in this category we can find Cyndi Lauper.
• They are especially heard by the youth, who also view these artists as a model to follow.
• Personally I believe that pop music, despite being globally heard, is one of my favorite genres to listen to.
