S E T O N & S W E N i n m u al NEWS Virginia (Mitchell) Dunn '42 Vacaville, CA Mary "Virginia" (Mitchell) Finkas Dunn '42 passed away on January 3, 2018, just three weeks shy of her 98th birthday. Virginia was an intelligent, beautiful, gracious, and dearly loved person who will be missed by all who knew her. She was a devoted mother (her most cherished role) and had five children, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren (with twins on the way). Born in the year women received the right to vote, she never missed an election. Part of the "greatest generation", Virginia lived through The Depression and served in the United States Treasury Department during WWII. Virginia was the Iowa State Track Queen her senior year at Clarke. She always spoke highly of Clarke and its beautiful campus, and had a true appreciation of the education she received there. Mary Pat (Lynch) Ament ’71 Asbury, IA Mary Pat was recognized as a “Person who Makes a Difference” for her volunteer work with St. Stephen's Food Bank in Dubuque, IA.

Kelley (Hutton) Deutmeyer ’84 Dubuque, IA Kelley has been the executive director of East Central Intergovernmental Association since December 2001, and she was recently profiled by the Dubuque Telegraph Herald “BizTimes.” Cindy (Welter) Lenz '86 Maquoketa, IA Cindy works at New Vienna Insurance and participated in Grinnell Mutual's Customer Service Representative Academy. Gail (Hodge) Hayes '87M Dubuque, IA Gail was appointed as dean for academic affairs at University of Dubuque. Kelli (Miller) Schandel ’95 Highlands Ranch, CO Kelli received the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award for her work with the Arthritis Foundation.

Deb (Spiegelhalter) Rohr ’97 Cascade, IA Deb serves as a Doctor of Nursing Practice and was featured in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald as her workplace extends beyond the boundaries of the UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine and Walk-in Care facility in Cascade to include patient house calls. Bill Marth '98, '07D Colorado Springs, CO Bill was named director of inpatient rehabilitation therapy at Parkview Medical Center.


Molly (Junk) Andersen Schreiber ’99 Dubuque, IA Molly owns Challenge to Change, a yoga studio that teaches classes to toddlers, kids, and adults. She was recently profiled by KCRG in a segment on women-owned businesses in the Dubuque community.

Javi Lopez '08 Cicero, IL Javier (Javi) was recognized by Jockey as an Everyday Hero for his partnership with his school and the Chicago Blackhawks to bring hockey to their community.

Joann Talarico '01 Dubuque, IA Johanna was promoted to creative services strategist at Heartland Financial. Zachary Breitbach ’05 Antioch, IL Zachary was presented with the 2018 LCGC Emerging Leader Award and 2018 ACS Young Investigators Award at the Pittcon 2018 program, a leading conference in the field of chemistry. Nyse (Jenkins) Holloman '05 Waterford Township, MI Claudnyse (Nyse) was named the director of Weiss Child Advocacy Center and Priority Children, and leads a team of staff and volunteers whose mission is to support children affected by abuse or human trafficking. Laura Merrick '05 Dubuque, IA Laura was named President and Chief Executive Officer by The Dubuque Regional Humane Society. Eric Gantz '06M Dubuque, IA Eric, and his cousin, Michael Gantz, assumed sole ownership of Lime Rock Springs Co. (Pepsi distributor) in Dubuque at the start of 2018.

Kristy (Dohrer) Meyer ’09 Dubuque, IA Kristy, and her sister, Lindsey Dohrer own and operate Carol Ann Boutique and Body, where they sell women's clothes and accessories, as well as offer massages. They were recently profiled by KCRG in a segment on women-owned businesses in the Dubuque community. Devin Patterson '09 Elizabeth, IL Devin was promoted to sales officer in retirement at American Trust & Savings Bank. Andy Ehrlich '14, '16M Dubuque, IA Andy was promoted to customer data associate by Heartland Financial. Pat McCullough ’17M Dubuque, IA Patrick (Pat) was recognized as a “Person who Makes a Difference” for his volunteer role in Mentor Dubuque. Through Mentor Dubuque, Pat and 11-year-old Hunter Close were matched up several years ago and they spend four to five hours together each month doing fun activities.
