CAREERS ARE BUILT HERE. Clarkson students are highly sought by industry leaders. Each year, Clarkson’s award-winning Career Center hosts two Career Fairs on campus that each attract nearly 200 of the nation’s top companies to hire Clarkson students for internships, co-ops and full-time positions. Throughout the year, the Career Center hosts professional development workshops, networking events and more to prepare students for the working world.
Hands-On & Professional Experiences Clarkson students have one of the highest rates — in the country and the world — for completion of professional experiences. In fact, every Clarkson student has at least one, if not several, high-impact professional experiences.
Co-Ops & Internships
100% OF CLARKSON STUDENTS HAVE AT LEAST ONE
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
— Co-ops and internships are the most popular way for students to get hands-on experience. In fact, 87% of Clarkson students complete at least one before graduation.
— Any interested undergraduate student can participate in research. For instance, 27% of the Class of 2021 took advantage of this opportunity, which is not available at many other colleges.
— During co-ops, students take a semester off from traditional coursework and head to top companies across the country and around the globe in a variety of industries. No tuition is charged while students complete a co-op.
— Students passionate about research can apply to the highly selective Honors Program, where students get started on research even before their first semester begins.
Hands-On Competition Teams
— Co-op students are paid and work alongside full-time employees on projects that make an impact.
— We like to think of our campus culture as “collaboratively competitive,” where students help each other to create the best outcomes for all.
— Students secure internships at various times throughout the year, such as summer and winter breaks, for shorter hands-on experience opportunities.
— Our 13 SPEED (Student Projects for Engineering Experience and Design) teams, like Baja SAE, SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge, Concrete Canoe and FIRST Robotics, compete in regional, national and international competitions.
Research — One of America’s top research universities, Clarkson has the perfect combination of academic rigor and innovative research mixed with small class sizes and a 10:1 student-tofaculty ratio.
— Students from across the University compete in annual business plan and innovation competitions like the Ignite President’s Challenge, research paper and presentation competitions like our annual Research and Project Showcase, and student club competitions at the local and national levels.

Scholarships & Financial Aid Clarkson consistently ranks among the top colleges in the nation for providing a strong return on investment to our graduates, starting with generous financial aid and scholarships for 98% of our students to make each student’s Clarkson education affordable. We consider students for both merit- and needbased scholarships and offer unique funding options and other special scholarships. — In 2019, we launched our first full-tuition scholarship, the Ignite Presidential Fellows (IPF) program. A merit-based program, IPF covers all tuition costs for 10 first-time students attending Clarkson each year.
— Students looking to apply for early decision will benefit from an additional $8,000 savings ($2,000/year) with our Early Decision Incentive Scholarship. — Students who are active in extracurriculars, such as Project Lead the Way, FIRST and the Conrad Challenge, can apply for special scholarships related to these programs. — Our Lewis Income Share Agreement program provides interest-free tuition financing. Students accepted into the program will pay the University back a percentage of their incomes after graduation for an agreed-upon amount of time. — Participants in our Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Program attend Clarkson without payment of tuition through a combination of merit-based aid and a purchase by Clarkson of 10% equity in their firm at fair market value. For more information on our scholarships, unique funding options and net price calculator, visit clarkson.edu/financial-aid.
