ustin Peay State University has partnered with national retailer Barnes and Noble to open a new bookstore complete with an extensive selection of used, digital and new textbooks, plus textbook rental and price-match programs as well as a user-friendly app that ensures every student convenience and success.
APSU is Tennessee’s fastest-growing state University. The University’s strategic plan calls for enrollment to reach 15,000 students by the year 2025. Each of these students have a different set of circumstances and needs. Textbook operations have changed dramatically in the last few years and this new partnership brings the University in-line with national bookstore best practices. In today’s digital age expectations around personalization extend far beyond the learning
experience, consumers are constantly aided by technology. Their campus bookstore is no exception. And while most college students are digital natives there are still a large market that prefers offline shopping options. According to Barnes & Noble College’s Future of Retail: Path to Purchase study, 89 percent of students still want to shop in store for a variety of things. They want the option to physically touch and try merchandise as well as face-to-face customer service. The new Ann Ross bookstore accommodates both. While the recent upgrade is primarily due to the evolving bookstore marketplace, it hopes to achieve a second goal, bridging the gap between APSU and the Clarksville community. After years of being hidden away inside of campus, Austin Peay State University’s Ann Ross Bookstore now has a more prominent home at the corner of College and Fourth streets in downtown Clarksville. The move provides the bookstore a much better retail presence for both the campus community and the public. This also allows for a more optimal retail layout, a café that offers a variety of food and Starbucks drinks, and a better parking situation for both visitors and students. The campus bookstore is open to the public, selling best sellers, children’s books, trade books, bargain books, office supplies as well as Austin Peay apparel.

Barnes & Noble College has helped many schools establish the campus store as a hub of activity, supplementing core campus locations like academic buildings, dorms, and student unions. Students choose the campus bookstore for group projects, job interviews and coffee breaks. When they buy apparel for sporting events and snacks to fuel all-night study sessions, it cements the bookstore as an important part of their academic and social life. The relationship between students and the bookstore translates into a deeper connection over time, as alumni visit the
bookstore when they return to campus and look for school-branded merchandise online. Austin Peay's Ann Ross Bookstore, managed and operated by Barnes & Noble College, features a café, with ample space for students, faculty, alumni, and community members to come together. The Barnes & Noble café which serves Starbucks coffee, is one of the most significant changes for the new location. The layout at this location was designed with a more customer friendly experience including a specific online order pickup area. There are several lounge areas equipped with charging stations as well as outside seating. For university students the Ann Ross Bookstore is truly a one stop shop. Store staff work closely with the school’s professors to ensure they only sell the editions they use in the classroom, saving you time and stress. On the fence about buying books for a class they let you know what is required on day one and when to wait to purchase certain class materials, service you can’t get anywhere else. Buying digital material is just as easy as buying a printed textbook. Just go to your campus bookstore app to purchase digital material. 'Digital' will appear as a textbook option whenever a digital option is available. Whether you buy in-store or online, once your material is available you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to access your material. Their interactive my college bookstore app, which can be installed on Android and iPhones, is a valuable tool for students and alumni. App users get exclusive perks, pick-up reminders, order notifications and weekly promotions. Austin Peay has also teamed up with Bartleby to help students study smarter with access to millions of stepby-step textbook solutions, a searchable digital database of homework solutions, and subject matter experts on standby 24/7 to provide homework help when they need it. Students can sign up for less than 10 dollars a month and are offered promotions and discounted rates on the bookstore’s app.

Because they opened the bookstore during a global pandemic, they worked hard to make safe shopping a priority, ensuring that both customers and employees feel comfortable. When customers come in, they will see various safety measures that have been put in place, such as sneeze guards at the registers and changes in the flow of store traffic to promote social distancing. As with campus policy, guests are required to wear a mask when in the store and social distancing is mandatory. They offer curbside pickup and contactless payment. The new location is located at 328 College Street and is open 7:30am-6:00pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays, closed on Sunday. Visit apsu.bncollege.com/shop/apsu/home for more details.

RUNNING FOR THe By Taylor Lieberstein

n January 2020, Kari Moore was training for the Miami Marathon. As a busy mom and Center Director for USO Fort Campbell/Nashville, running is a pastime that she has enjoyed for 13 years. Moore often runs with local running group “She Runs This Town” and enjoys the social aspect of training with friends. However, early in 2020 Moore was presented with an opportunity that would challenge her, push her, and help her appreciate the social aspects of running in a completely new way. The Boston Marathon annually offers charity race entries through their principal sponsor, John Hancock. John Hancock hosts the NonProfit program, which affords organizations the opportunity to secure invitational entries into the race, including the USO. Historically the USO has selected service members and military spouses to compete, but in 2020 for the first time a USO staff member was selected to receive one of the invitational entries. Kari Moore was honored to be chosen as the staff representative. Moore was tasked with raising money in support of the USO mission as the selected staff member. This meant continuing her marathon training past the Miami race, as well as working to

By Paige Eisemann secure donations. An average charity event fundraiser for a Boston Marathon participant raises about $12,000 for the non-profit. Moore said, “This turned out to be a difficult time to ask people to donate, and while I didn’t reach the average donation level, I’m really thankful for each and every donation we received. While I ran for the USO, the money raised does get to stay in our local USO Fort Campbell/Nashville budget.” Moore continued training and fundraising, planning to run the Boston Marathon on the originally scheduled date of Monday, April 20. When the public health crisis took hold of the country in spring, the race was postponed until September 14. For Moore, this meant more time to fundraise for the USO. It also meant continuing her training through the heat of summer here in humid Tennessee. Moore considers herself a runner who runs for enjoyment, saying “I never would have qualified to run the Boston Marathon. I’m just not competitive”. Training seemed to go on forever as the pandemic once again forced a change to Moore’s plans. The Boston Athletic Association made the decision that the race would be held virtually, with thousands of runners running their own 26.2 miles around the world between September 7 and September 14, 2020. Knowing that she would now be running throughout Clarksville, Moore enlisted the

help of her “She Runs This Town” friends, USO Advisory Council Members, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Fort Campbell chapter, Christian County KY Military Affairs Commission, countless friends and her family. While she might not be able to experience the Boston Marathon in Boston, her supporters ensured that she would experience their love and support through her 26.2 mile journey in other ways. As she planned her route through Clarksville, she considered where she could direct her supporters to cheer her on along the way. She
"The Boston Athletic Association made the decision that the race would be held virtually, with thousands of runners running their own 26.2 miles around the world..." had to be mindful of social distancing, and prevent people from congregating. Turns out, even with coronavirus precautions, Moore’s supporters turned out in a big way! Moore ran her 26.2 miles through Clarksville on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Local friends including Riann Doyle, Alyssa
Bone, Molly Hulien, Jolene Galaviz, Jennifer Estabrook, and Summer Cummings joined her for increments of the run, keeping her mind busy with conversation and laughter. Her husband, Craig Moore, and their 6 year old son Roman created cheering stations along the route. USO co-workers created a cheering section in a Walgreens parking lot as she passed by- leading the manager to come out to investigate why there was music, cheering and signs so early in the morning! MOAA representatives Ivan Adames and Thomasa Ross set up cheering stations, along with MaLissa Harris (USO Center Operations Supervisor), Eva Nicol (USO Center Operations and Programs Manager), Bernie Starr (USO Advisory Council Member), Barbara Castillo (former USO Advisory Council Member), Maria Yager, Kristi Murtha, and Jenna Jimenez. Adames even ran to Moore to place an icy towel around her neck just when she needed it most. Julie Armentabueno, a friend who had moved with military orders months prior flew back to Tennessee to support Moore, running some of the distance with her. At about ⅓ of the way into the run, Moore ran several miles with Armentabueno, Riann Doyle, Mary Ellen Williams, Alyssa Bone, Jolene Galaviz, and Molly Hulien, the seven women running, talking, and laughing. Elysia Mahjoub, a friend of Moore’s who lives in Baltimore, sent a poster which Moore’s son Roman held for her to see as she ran by. One friend, Mary Ellen Williams, even ran a full 13 miles with Moore! Moore says she was grateful for all the support along her route through Clarksville, especially for one particular friend, Marie Vasquez, who was with her around mile 17 when she “hit the wall”. Through encouragement and support from Marie and the friends that joined in over the next few miles, Jennifer Estabrook and Summer Cummings, she pushed through and met her goal of completing the race for the USO.

place. She may not have been able to raise as much money as she had hoped for the USO, but the experience of training and running during the time of COVID made the donations all the more sweet. She says the love and support of her friends, family and coworkers were what made the experience magical. Moore began and ended her 26.2 miles at her home, and friends gathered with a balloon arch in her street to welcome her in as she finished the race. She says the people she was able to share the experience with were the true reward. Her finishers jacket recently arrived, a forever reminder of the wonderful memories made in the name of the USO mission. The charity donation link for Moore’s race will remain open. If you would like to donate, you can do so at https://charity. gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/ united-service-organization/ karimoore8. While any amount
is appreciated, the USO suggests just $26, which is one dollar for each mile Moore ran. In 2019, John Hancock sponsored more than 1,000 non-profit runners, along with 200 John Hancock and Manulife employees and clients. These groups raised more than $14 million for charities. Over the past 34 years, the official Boston Athletics Association and John Hancock Non-Profit programs have committed to raise more than $372 million for community organizations. The mission of the USO is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to our nation. The USO Fort Campbell/Nashville staff have continued to innovate to be able to continue delivering the mission through these difficult months. For more information please visit www.uso.org.

ometimes, we all need a little push in the right direction, or a spark to light a much-needed motivational fire. When 10-year-old Mikey McAdaragh heard that Imagination Library Montgomery County's fundraising efforts had been negatively impacted by Covid-19, and that young readers in our community might not get their books in November and December, he didn't hesitate to act.
Karen Morrow, Co-Chair of the Imagination Library Board for Montgomery County talked about the problem the program faces. “We've run into a bit of a deficit with our funding,” Morrow said. “We were not able to do our two biggest fundraisers of the year, because of Covid-19. One would have been with CMCSS teachers in April, our Jean Day. Then, in September we would have had our annual spelling bee, which garnered a lot of attention last year. Mayors Pitts and Durrett were there, and there was a lot of bribery going on, so we raised quite a bit of money. It was such a success, we had really hoped to do it again this year, but just didn't feel we could get that number of people together, safely, under the circumstances.”
suspend the program, temporarily. And, let all the parents know that while we're raising money, book deliveries will stop. Really, our fundraising has to provide for more than just the next two months. We're not set up to operate month to month.”
This is where a local kid with a big heart and love of reading come in. “I just wanted to help,” Mikey McAdaragh said. “I like books, and I really enjoy reading.” His mom, Jamie McAdaragh confirms Mikey's claim. “We were late to the game,” Jamie said. “But, he was in the program for at least two years, and he absolutely loved it.”
Mikey explained where his donation came from “I wrote a book when I was younger, in kindergarten, called Helping Mommy in the Kitchen. We used to cook together, a lot.” Mikey set up a non-profit for his book project. His dream was to sell copies of the book, which would help him raise funds that could help other children who wanted to selfpublish. He was looking at dissolving that non-profit this year. When he saw the article about Imagination Library's struggles, he said, “that's what we can do with the money we've
“Morrow said the program had enough money to send out books in October, but not enough for November and December. “If we can't raise the money we need, in a short amount of time, we're basically going to have to

raised.” That light bulb moment led to him making a $720 donation to the program. “I'm ten years old, I'm a 5th grader at Clarksville Christian School,” Mikey said. “I think it was Kindergarten when I started working on my book project. Mom's a good cook, and I learned to make tacos and pizza, stuff like that. It took about six months from the start, to the point where I was holding a copy of the book in my hand, and it was really fun. I loved going to the Downtown Artists Coop, and meeting with Bob Privet. He did the illustrations for the book.” Jamie added some context to the story. “Bob was so touched by Mikey's idea, that he donated his work to the project,” Jamie said. “We reenacted some of our favorite memories of cooking at home for the project, and I took pictures. We sent them to Bob, then he drew each picture, down to the tiniest detail.” Mikey said, “We still have all these magnets on our fridge.” (pointing to a picture in his book) “There is one picture of these toy snowballs that light up, that might be my favorite.”
Mikey's book has stories about the things that would happen when he and his mom were cooking. There were sword fights with carrots, and other not-so-serious moments. Jamie says, it's pretty much everything that the two of them did for fun. Mikey explains that he wasn't into video games at that time.
This is where a local kid with a big heart and love of reading come in. “I just wanted to help,” “I was thinking other kids might want to write a book,” Mikey said. “At the end of mine, there were questions about that, that could be answered. I wanted to give kids my age the money to do their own books. But, now we're using the money to help the Imagination Library. I love our library, and I really enjoyed
all the books I used to get. They were good. This is one of my favorites. I have lots of favorite parts.” He held up the book “If I Built a Car” by Chris Van Dusen. Mikey said, “it feels good to give money to such a good cause.” Jamie talked about what happened next. “Erin Yow, the Director of Hilldale Day Care took a picture with Mikey at school. She told him she had heard what he had done, and she was going to match his donation. She also pledged to challenge others to do the same. I think that's awesome. Jenn McMillion donated too, and she's seeking others to do so. Jeff and Jessica Tyndall have invited Mikey to a Montgomery County Commission meeting to challenge the Commissioners as well.” Erin Yow was happy to talk about her involvement with Mikey's Imagination Library project. “I was absolutely inspired by Mikey's donation,” Erin Yow said. “He totally called me out. He knew I would be passionate about the Imagination Library, and when a 5th grader calls you out, you have to step up. Mikey challenging me, and me challenging some friends, I think we've raised close to $4,000 already.” Mikey is a student at Clarksville Christian School, and attends the Hilldale aftercare program where Yow works. “I've known him for quite a few years,” Yow said. “He is a very impressive young man. I love that he was inspired to do this. A lot of kids come to me for donations, and I'm always happy to help, but, I love that Mikey came up with this idea, for which he's getting nothing in return. He stopped getting the Imagination Library books when he was five. I think it's incredible that he feels called to challenge others to help, so that other children can have that same great early reading experience.” The energy around Mikey's idea seems to be contagious. Donations are coming in, and more people are getting involved. “According to a message I got from Karen Morrow on September 17, if all goes as it appears, IL Montgomery County may reach their November/December needs by the end of October,” Jamie said. “Mikey and Erin Yow's efforts have raised close to $4,000 already, and Jenn McMillion has gotten Union Home Mortgage to agree to match donations up to $3,500. They're holding a grand opening event on Thursday, October 22, and
Mikey and I have been invited to talk about Imagination Library.” Imagination Library Montgomery County needs $21,000 in order to continue providing books through the end of 2020. You can make donations by going to www. governorsfoundation.com. Designate your donation as a gift for Montgomery County. Or, you can send a check to the CMC Public Library made out to the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
“My goal is to make sure all the kids keep getting their books,” Mikey said. “I'm sure they'll all enjoy reading them, just like I did. I'm into the Goosebumps books now. I love he Magic Tree House series, too. When I read, I like to imagine it in my mind, like it's actually happening. I want to challenge others in the community to see if we can raise more money for Imagination Library.”

DYI TO LAST ALL SEASON LONG!
By Kay Drew
T
here is an old saying in the South, “Fall is a Southerner’s reward for surviving the summer” and after this one, I nod and wink in full agreement.
Now that summer 2020 has faded away, it is time to embrace autumn. This is unquestionably one of my favorite times of the year. It is still warm during the day, but early mornings and evenings are cool and humidity free. I love it. The crops that were planted in spring and early summer have been harvested and are ready to be enjoyed. Wagons full of colorful pumpkins, gourds and decorative squash are easily accessed but don’t forget the crisp apples, tart pears, dried corn, and hay. The best fall decorations can remain on display from September through November. With Halloween and Thanksgiving following one after another, even the most experienced homemakers can begin to feel burned out before the turkey is carved. Here are five decorating inspirations to help you bridge the gap. Not only will your décor be unique and timeless, you will also be saving yourself money and time. So, follow along and make this fall season one to remember….and enjoy. With all the surprises this year, for goodness sakes, you deserve it. AUTUMN COLOR PALETTE Halloween and Thanksgiving both occur during the harvest season and are two holidays that feature the autumn color palette. Begin by identifying fall colors that compliment 20
your home. To navigate these holidays like a pro, select from tones like deep orange, forest green, rusty red, and golden amber. Balance these with mossy green, tobacco brown, and creamy white accents to have a color combination that is timeless. Remember to use brown during this season because it is more neutral than black. Once you have made your color selection the fun begins.
Use favorites found in your home, then add natural materials like florals, leaves, and grasses. If you enjoy collecting, invest in a new piece that you can add to each year. My autumn collection contains original and inexpensive artificial pumpkins. I collect all shapes and sizes made from a variety of materials including velvet, linen, plastic, and ceramics. I have discovered

them in gift shops, dollar stores, craft booths, outdoor markets, and second-hand vintage stores. The easiest ones to arrange are filled with rice or bird seed which adds weight and flexibility for easy stacking. PUMPKIN WELCOME Many symbols are shared between Halloween and Thanksgiving, perhaps none more than the pumpkin. The secret to using the pumpkin for both holidays is not to get too specific. Pumpkins in various colors and sizes make beautiful decorations when stacked in a planter or placed on your porch, stairs, or in the backyard. Just remember, while getting pumpkins for your home is perfect, once you carve them the harvest symbol turns into a Halloween JackO-Lantern decoration. After October 31st, turn it around. (Hint: to lengthen the life of your pumpkin, apply a two tablespoons of floor wax to
a damp rag, then wipe down the entire surface of the uncarved pumpkin. This will create a

moisture barrier.) Work with a variety of pumpkin shapes and colors to achieve a vibrant display that captures the essence of fall. Using a paint marker letter “Happy Fall Y’all” or “Welcome Friends" on larger pumpkins and place them together in your display. Weave grape vine around the pumpkins and add some mums and foliage for a splash of color. This display will be one that produces a smile every time you see it. FALL TERRARIUM It is easy to create a fall inspired terrarium from a bell jar or cloche combined with a shallow dish or wooden disc. This display will be one that is perfect for highlighting your favorite elements. Currently, cloches are very popular and can be purchased inexpensively from craft stores. (I have even created impromptu small ones from inverting a stemless wine glass on a small wooden disc or saucer.) To make your glass covered decoration begin with moss then add small pumpkins, branches, acorns or colored leaves. This timeless piece is one that can be used year after year for harvest decorations and others holidays too. You can design it with living materials or artificial. Just remember if you have live plants condensation will occur inside your glass dome so add spacers for air flow.

FALL SQUASH AND FOLIAGE Pair beautiful curvy gourds with earthenware crocks and pottery for an autumn decoration that is classic and impressive. For your vase use a tinted wine bottle, brown beer growler, or a small necked crock. Fill the vase with several long branches full of berries or colorful leaves. Less is more here so resist the temptation to over fill and edit for simplicity. Place your arrangement to the side on the mantle, chest, or entry table and accessorize with books, gourds, pumpkins, leaves, or pinecones.

PUMPKIN CANDLE HOLDERS Give the tradition of pumpkins and candlelight a new twist. All it takes to create this fresh variation of a jack-o’-lantern is a pumpkin, a glass chimney, a
candle, and a roll of brown hemp-covered wire. First, carefully cut the top off the pumpkins. It is important to stay shallow and flat. Next, place the glass chimney on top of the flat surface and trace the circle on with a pencil. Lightly carve a shallow circle groove with the tip of a small knife for glass chimney to rest in. Place the glass chimney on top, then use a long wooden skewer or chop stick to punch holes in the pumpkin top. This is for the hemp covered wire ends to be inserted into. The arched wire loops will help to secure the glass chimney. Be as creative as you like with your loops of wire. Finally, gently place a pillar candle inside the glass chimney and light. (I suggest keeping these in the refrigerator if you are using these for several occasions because once a pumpkin is carved it does not last as long.) Kay Drew is a native Clarksvillian who lives Washington, D.C. with her husband Tom. She enjoys spending time in Clarksville, Tennessee where they have their vacation home. Sharing humor, creativity, and celebrating the magic of unexpected occasions (Instagram- @kdd_drewdesign) are a few of her favorite things. Kay’s mantra, “Keep up your spirits, be positive, and continue lifelong learning by trying new things like recipes or arranging flowers. Serve and love your friends, family, and neighbors. It is good for the soul.”

October is National Pitbull Awareness Month By Christina Chittenden
F
all is in the air, and what better time than now to celebrate “National Pit Bull Awareness Month”. The month of October specifically focuses on the bully breeds. It’s a time to show our appreciation, provide necessary education specifically designed to change perceptions and stereotypes about pit bulls and their responsible owners. During this time,
there is a focus on educating and fostering positive communications and experiences in the communities in which we and our dogs live, and it is an initiative dedicated to restoring the image of the American Pit Bull Terrier and the bully breed. It’s no secret that pit bulls – and pit-mixes – are at the very core of breed specific legislation,

discrimination and negative bias among the nation’s media and government. Despite continued efforts by supporters, much of the general public is overwhelmingly misinformed about the breed. Although it is common to consider pit bull a breed, the truth is that this name is used only to cover dogs that share the same traits. Only a few breeds such as the American Pit Bull Terrier are accepted as

breeds on their own; otherwise, many dogs you see that are labeled as pit bulls are that only to some degree. Every dog is an individual, no matter the breed. Thousands of families in our country have one or more pit-bull-like dogs as pets. Some are couch potatoes, some are agility dogs, some are service and therapy dogs and others are simply someone’s best friend. They are playful, intelligent, loyal and extremely affectionate. When pit bulls are loved and trained properly, they can sincerely be one of the best dogs to have as pets. Let’s help spread the love for these gentle and loving animals as they are intended to be showcased. By spreading the word, we can help quiet the negative misunderstandings and perceptions of these beautiful dogs. We are their voice, and they are depending on us to educate the public (not only about the breed in general, but with respect to responsible ownership practices), to dispel the false information out there, and to restore their reputation as a great American icon. Leading by example is a great place to start! Be responsible pet owners: spay and neuter your pets, provide proper training, follow your local leash laws and avoid mishaps by taking the necessary precautions. Do your homework before adopting. Determine what breed and size meets your family’s needs and best suits your home and lifestyle. While the bully breeds are most excellent family dogs, they can be stubborn as most bully and large breeds are. They require experienced handling from an early start. Proper training is essential with any breed and will help you understand your pet and its needs. Clarksville’s shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with bully breeds. Sadly, so many are overlooked and can sit for months patiently waiting for a family to love. Please consider opening your home and heart today to a fur baby in need.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY
iThe purpose of Celebrate Recovery at Grace Church is to provide fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles. This experience allows us to “be changed.” We open the doors by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal,
loving, and forgiving Higher Power – Jesus Christ. We welcome you! Hurts, Hang-up,s and Habits commonly come from Family Dysfunction, Food Issues, Chemical Dependency, Anger, Sexual Addiction, Sexual/ Emotional/Physical Abuse Recovery, Life Issues (divorce, grief, financial), or Codependency. LIGHT THE PATH: A WALK FOR MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH. 6:30PM - 7:30PM
Postpartum depression & anxiety is considered the most common side effect of pregnancy. 1 in 7 women experience it. It's also the most uncommon topic of discussion. Join Stroller Strong Moms Clarksville as we work to shift the culture! Let's walk, talk and raise awareness for maternal mental health. This walk will begin at sunset so we will be walking "in the dark" similar to how many women with postpartum depression & anxiety feel. The path will be lit up in addition to us carrying lights - we will literally "light the path" for our mamas that are in the darkness; symbolizing that there is a light for them after the darkness & motivate them to keep walking and climbing out. Meet in the parking lot behind O'Charley's on Riverside Drive around 6:30pm. We will then head to the McGregor Park to walk to lit up Riverwalk path and back. Event will end around 7:30pm.

A NOTE FROM SYD: I absolutely cannot wait to spend time getting to know you all and help you start your hand lettering journey! This is so exciting for me, I’ve been looking forward to hosting workshops like these for a long time. Please join us even if you think to yourself, “I can’t do this, my handwriting sucks!” YOU CAN DO THIS! It is so fun. Just to clarify, I will be teaching you the basics of hand lettering, also called faux calligraphy/modern calligraphy, this is not a formal calligraphy class. My favorite thing about hand lettering is the freedom to be creative! There are so many ways to do it. Most of which are correct. Everybody has their own style and I’m excited to share mine with you. I promise we’ll have fun and I promise you’ll take home a few tips and tricks too. I hope to offer these workshops & others as often as I can. Can’t wait to meet you/see you again. -Syd Scriptures & Sawdust Handmade Gifts and Decor 260 Needmore Road Clarksville, TN

Leveling will be milestone-based, with experience being granted for exceptional role-play, as well as for creative solutions to puzzles, encounters, and such. House rules:
Critical hits—instead of rolling double dice, all dice will be maxed and rolled. Potions—will either be an action as well as maximized rolls, or a bonus action and rolled as normal. This will be determined at the start of the game. HP will be maxed each level. Stats will be rolled 4d6, reroll 1s and drop lowest. Nat 1s with attacking are automatic misses, as per the rules, but I will also have a fumble table to see if anything else happens. Nat 20s with attacking are automatic critical hits, as per the rules, but I will also have a critical hit table to see if anything else happens. If a disagreement with rules comes up, I will make a decision to keep the game rolling smoothly and make note of it, and later at a break or between sessions will research and have a more permanent ruling that will apply to all future cases of a similar situation. If at anytime someone is uncomfortable with something that myself or a player are doing/ saying, they need only say so and that narration or role-play will be retconned (examples are extreme violence, gore, etc) The Upstairs Emporium 305 N Riverside Drt Clarksville, TN
