Classic has been coordinating the following promotions for many years. They have traditionally had a good track record. Classic has arranged for 1st refusal on all blocks within each promotion. So your hotel will be assured of a block. In addition the price with Classic is lower than the paper, as Classic sponsors the blocks for FULL and ASSOCIATE members. WEB members can take part but only at the Published prices shown.

The Scotsman 2 for 1 promotion Readership 156,000 Printed: 29th Sept Size:Block Entry (10x5cms) For years, the Scotsman has been the most popular Promotion, because there is a lot of pre launch build up. The initial launch will involve promotional adverts in the Scotsman during the week prior to launch date. A TV campaign dedicated to the hotel offers will appear in January. During this time 10 –12 TV adverts will be screened to promote the 2 for 1 offers. The promotion will also be supported on www.scotsman.com. Each hotel will receive a 10 x 2 block, with full colour picture. (You can run the same size block entry the following Saturday in the Holiday section of the Scotsman for an additional £75.)

2 for 1 promotion Readership 152,000 Printed: 23rd Sept Size: Block Entry (8x5cms) West of Scotland’s premier quality Sunday paper, full pull out promotion largely aimed at the AB1 & 2 market. Is always a popular one for the more top end hotels.

Yorkshire Post & Evening Post 2 for 1, 3 for 2 and 4 night promo Readership 303,000

Printed: 15th Sept Size (5x5 block colour) The Yorkshire Post is Yorkshire’s leading paper and together with its sister paper the Evening Post provides Classic with a good spread of readers looking for short break offers. Each year the Yorkshire Post puts together a short break product, both in the spring time and again in autumn. Classic has secured 2 premier slots to capture Easter and Autumn, and provide 303,000 readers with exclusive offers. We trialled the paper in 2010 and received 255 bookings. Max 16 hotels.

Newspaper Advertising On your own Newspaper advertising is still expensive, but it is still a very worthwhile way of promoting your hotel for late deals and special offers. You can make your budget extend a lot further by using Classic. Not only do we have the experience of media advertising, but also by joining a few hotels together, makes the economies of scale affordable.

Sunday Mail Scotland’s largest circulation paper with over 1.65 million readers. Classic will once again be offering hotels the chance to save even more on advertising, with our 50/50 sponsor deals. All we ask is the offer is price led and there is plenty of availability. We also pay for the design of the ads. We restrict the number of hotels so you get maximum return. 1 booking pays for the advert!! Classic’s 16 page full colour direct mail shot brochure will be delivered during the 1st week in September and again during the 3rd week in January to over 175,000 previous guests throughout the UK. Entry into the mail shot is FREE for Full and Associate member hotels. All we ask is you complete the Mailshot Products' form (attached) before the 13th July 2012. In the September mailer Classic will be promoting your Autumn & Winter short break rates, Festive Breaks, January Sale rates, 2 nights for 1 rates and other packages. We just need your best available rates, so we can print DBB prices. There are still a large percentage of our customers who book over the phone, so returning the form will bring you more business. Email Databases We are finding as time moves on that emarketing is becoming more and more successful. Our email campaigns have proved to be an essential tool for sending late offers out to over 45,000 past guests. We are giving you the opportunity to be entered in to an exclusive email, for FREE! Travel Trade Opportunities Classic are extremely active in the Travel Trade sector and work regularly with over 200 UK and Overseas Tour Operators. Last year we placed over 800 groups in to our full member hotels with an expected increase for 2012. We produce a 52-page ‘Recommended Group Packages’ brochure every year (below). This year was our 3rd edition and it is becoming increasingly more popular each year. Along side our brochure we attend all the major UK Travel Trade Shows as well as send monthly emails to all our regular tour & couch operators with late availability mystery tours and popular packages we would like to promote. All our full member hotels are the ‘first point of call’ for the numerous group enquiries we receive each day.
