I'm assuming you are either the general contractor or construction manager. If so, follow exactly whatever is provided on the contract documents and approved submittals. Not 1000% sure about a detail?? Simple, don't touch it, do not build it. Trust me, you might think you look stupid for sending an RFI or asking questions, but I promise you that you will look infinitely stupider if you build something nonsensical and it is rejected later down the road. Do you have trouble interpreting the drawings??
Then learn how to read the damn drawings or you are in the wrong business. Or maybe you are upper management and deal with other crap, then make sure you hire someone who knows the drawings inside out and has the experience of working successfully with drawings.
