Clay's Carvings. Etc.

I was born and raised in the UP of Michigan, graduated from the U. of Michigan Business school, served in the US Army in Germany from 1954-1956. After this I returned home, married and worked in various industries and companies including General Motors, Montgomery Ward, Bonwit Teller, Illinois Bell Tel. Co. and AT&T until I retired in 1994. Then moved to Albuquerque, NM and Durango, CO. I started wood carving in 1992 while living and working in New Jersey. I joined wood carving groups in Albuquerque in 1994 & participated in NM Fair competitions receiving many ribbons including Best of Show. I started selling my wood carvings at A & C shows in NM & Colorado in 1998. My carvings include a variety of sculptures, reliefs and walking sticks in small to large 5' sizes with a variety of wood and subjects; people, sports, wildlife, pets, religious and scenic. I especially enjoy carving commissioned pieces to satisfy my customer desires. I love what I do very much.
