Now I treasure my affinities my infirmities I defy the wraiths that would entangle me In society’s whims and expectations In a now forgotten moment I proofed myself against regret

Certainty the evanescence of certainty impinges on my mood today this Tuesday was not meant for quizzical meanders a firm step is required boots at the ready a clear point of departure a well defined story line an unquestioned arrival to a place in time no lallygagging about no detours no matter how enticing a straight line A to B

an afternoon stroll what puppeteer hold the strings of the shadow dances

Universal You the universe is infinite in all directions so wherever you chose to stand you are at the center

Listen at the lakeside cottage voices rattle against the dark weathered windows abandoned wooden floors aged and scuffed footprints in the dust along the shoreline among gentle waves intimations of old secrets

Friendship I always feel I have an unseen companion just out of sight around the corner in the shadow at the edge of dreams an ever present comforting silence

Quantum Morning an enormous gray morning with no boundaries uncertainty in all directions like quantum mechanics determines location or velocity you only get one or the other

Light light falls to shadow gives up blue sky for stars the moon circles earth love’s gravity holds them

in the night’s darkness the moon tips into the bay sudden silver path

Time and Light this particular day’s hours of light and shadow each its own mystery much like the day itself

Memory’s Theater what and whom where and when who saw it who heard it what was said a curtain rises on a play with no script

Windy the windows rattle like wooden tongues this blustery afternoon’s proof rests in angled white caps rushing across the wakened bay

The Animals Know revelatory signs everywhere old ones exhausted by indifference apocalyptic horsemen retire from the field goddesses and wizards lose interest an octopus escapes a New Zealand aquarium a chimpanzee escapes from a zoo in Japan animals want to keep their distance from our ecological inadequacy nature rends itself in protest a gesture of resignation unseen by almost everyone except animals trying to escape

There And There somewhere a distant door opens somewhere a shadow rises somewhere a curtain flutters somewhere two people fall in love somewhere a distant door opens somewhere I wait for you always

Rose learn from the rose bloom without judgment welcome beauty’s admirers indifference is powerful
