Center for Continuing Education
Congratulations to our ABCs of Customs Brokerage graduates!
Building a successful business is dependent on multiple factors, but none more critical than access to a workforce with a skill set that meets the business need now and in the future. Conversely, success for an individual is dependent on their ability to access education and training that provides a skill set desired and required by the industry. Over the past year, logistics employers in the south metro Atlanta area have met with industry experts in international trade and workforce development to develop a workforce plan for an international trade training pathway. The ABCs of Customs Brokerage was delivered this past January through a partnership including Mullins International Solutions, Atlanta CareerRise and Clayton State University Center for Continuing Education. Employers selected the individuals to apply and, if accepted, would be trained with the knowledge and skills that lead to advancement.
I have reviewed the manual and I feel it is an excellent tool and indicates the “course was comprehensive and of value to this industry. ”
– Yvonne Turner, LCB, CCS with John S. James Company
“
I love educating individuals in international trade matters. Putting together and preparing The ABC’s of Customs Brokerage was a labor of love. We were elated when the National Education Institute recognized the course to be of such high value to our industry that students passing this course would be afforded the opportunity to sit for the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) exam. The CCS is one of the most distinguished certifications in the international trade industry.
