The mission of the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is to serve our membership and provide value through opportunities in networking, advocacy and business resources. Each year Chamber members gather to celebrate the previous year’s accomplishments and to recognize award winners at the Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon. Help us celebrate the the following award winners: First Mate of the Year, Education Partner of the Year, Larry Luker Volunteer of the Year, North Iowa Service Award and Business of the Year. We will also pass the gavel and share the Chamber's vision for the future.

Educators Appreciation Breakfast
Educators Appreciation Breakfast August (Date TBD) | 7:30 a.m. The Educators Appreciation Breakfast is the business community's opportunity to honor Clear Lake Community School District teachers and staff for their dedication to our children. Sponsoring a table allows us to purchase a large, hot breakfast for all school district employees on their first day back from summer break. As a sponsor, you’re also asked to provide 8 or 12 gifts depending on the number seated at your table. Here are the reasons you should sponsor the Educators Appreciation Breakast: It provides an excellent way for the business community to say “thank you” for a great job to teachers and staff as they start their new academic year Workforce development is a key issue and our kids are our future, so businesses have a natural self-interest in our educational community Sponsoring businesses get a chance to visit with the teachers at their table during the breakfast It’s a terrific way to have your company name linked to a captive audience of teachers and staff, whose sphere of influence spreads beyond the kids The breakfast will be followed by a brief program recognizing event sponsors. The teachers and staff will then move on to their regular administrative meeting as we leave.

Lake Leadership September - May
Lake Leadership is an excellent opportunity to become more engaged and familiar with your community, its local businesses, institutions and leaders. Lake Leadership is the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce flagship program meeting once a month from September through May on the third Wednesday. The class is limited to 20 students, so save your seat today! Lake Leadership is designed to educate civic-minded individuals by using our community as a classroom. Lake Leadership will take you behind the scenes in the Clear Lake area, providing you the opportunity to network with your peers and learn more about our community and area businesses. Please contact Stacy Doughan at stacy@clearlakeiowa.com for more information or to request the Lake Leadership application. We will be accepting applications through August 31st or until the class is full. The first day of class will be a luncheon on Wednesday, September 21st.

Golf FUNdraiser July 22, 2022 Golf, food, good times, networking and plenty of prizes await members and their guests at the Chamber's Annual Golf FUNdraiser. Teams may use the event for a day of fun, a team building experience, or to entertain their most valued clients. This annual fundraiser is a wonderful avenue for area companies to support the community, as well as the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce which serves as the cornerstone of our economic growth, community development and tourism efforts in Clear Lake. Color The Wind Kite Festival February 19, 2022
We are excited to announce the return of Color the Wind kite festival on February 19th, 2022! In February of 2019, Larry and Kay Day announced 2020 would be their final year organizing Clear Lake’s Color the Wind kite festival. Over its 19-year history, Color the Wind has grown into a spectacular event drawing crowds from across the country to enjoy kites of all shapes and sizes flying over Clear Lake. In addition, the worldwide coverage of the event on CBS Sunday Morning has made a great impact on attendance. Larry & Kay Day started Color the Wind out of their own passion for kite flying and to give back to the community. They have generously dedicated their time and talents to put on the event and keep it free and open to the public. “It’s been an opportunity for us to give back to this wonderful community, and it’s been good to us,” said founder Larry Day, “But it’s time for us to take a step back." As a result, the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted to take over Color the Wind beginning in 2022 with help from Larry & Kay Day.

Earth Day April 21, 2022 - Green Expo - Surf Ballroom April 23, 2022 - Community Clean-up & 5K/10K The Earth Day celebration in Clear Lake is so much more than simply picking up trash strewn about after the bitter winter months. It's about caring for and celebrating the amazing community we live in. The various events of this celebration attract a wide array of volunteers and participants from the area. Whether they're involved in the Trash Bash, 5K/10K race and fun run, Outdoor Fest, or the Green Expo at the Surf Ballroom, Earth Day has enticing activities for everyone, especially after a long Iowa winter, the hint of Spring on the horizon brings hope of new life, fresh growth, and community empowerment for all of our residents and countless visitors.

TRI Clear Lake Triathlon
TRI Clear Lake Triathlon May 28, 2022 2022 marks our 6th Annual TRI Clear Lake Triathlon sanctioned by USA Triathlon. The scenic course will commence at City Beach; the flat and fast 1- or 2-loop bike course guides athletes out and back along South Shore Drive through the prairie and windmills south of Clear Lake. The race is capped off with a 3.1- or 6.2-mile run on North Shore Drive along beautiful Clear Lake passing by the Lady of the Lake and the legendary Surf Ballroom. With your support, you will be recognized by a growing number of triathletes who work, live and train in Iowa and far beyond. As our sport continues to grow so will the number athletes, spectators, and bystanders who will see and hear advertising from our sponsors. You can help us achieve our goal by being a contributing sponsor whether your gift is of monetary value, time or an in-kind donation. We had close to 550 athletes participate in 2021 and are anticipating 750 athletes in 2022. Thursdays on Main June 2, 9, 16, 23 July 7, 14, 21, 28 August 4, 11, 18 No other event holds a candle to this weekly party in downtown Clear Lake, taking place every Thursday during the summer. The streets are filled with people as they peruse the many vendors downtown. The sound of live music floats through the warm, summer air. The smell of gourmet hot dogs, walking tacos, grilled burgers and BBQ waft into your nostrils as you pass the various food trucks. City Park bustles with activities for children and families to enjoy, ending with an evening of cinema under the stars. Thursdays on Main ignites a wave of excitement around town, eager to swoop you up before crashing into another awesome weekend in paradise. Harvest Festival
Harvest Festival October 1, 2022 Often described as the Ultimate Girls' Day Out, Harvest Festival has become a signature event in Clear Lake. Rain or shine, thousands of people flock to downtown Clear Lake for an incredible day of food, shopping and fun. Patrons can sample from the many wine and beer stations, cruise along Main Avenue at the expanded farmer's market bursting with fall's bounty, or shop at all of our wonderful businesses and the various vendors who line the downtown streets. There are also entertaining events to participate in or watch, like the homemade salsa contest, grape stomp. Live music is stationed throughout the area, creating the perfect atmosphere for this extraordinary event!

Christmas by the Lake
Christmas by the Lake December 3, 2022 A holiday tradition filled with food, fun and festivities. Christmas by the Lake offers something for everyone, bringing out the young and the old to celebrate this magical time of the year. Main Avenue is transformed into a winter wonderland filled with a European vendor market, pony rides, petting zoo, visits with Santa and so much more. The day is capped with a fantastic lighted parade through town and ending with a spectacular fireworks display over the frozen lake. It truly is a day of wonder and magic, making the thousands of patrons feel like they are encapsulated in a Hallmark movie right here in North Iowa.
