THE EMERALD MANX EXPLORER Tuesday 13 or Wednesday 14 – Thursday 22 June 2017 You will have 3 nights on the Isle of Man to experience the diverse culture and fascinating heritage of this sea-bound kingdom. Indulge your love for trains at one of the island’s heritage railways, have an excellent view of England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland all at once from the Summit of Snaefell, or experience seal and shark spotting at Peel Castle. We then fly to Ireland’s capital, Dublin. The next day we head by steam across Ireland for a stay in the North West town of Westport, surrounded by stunning scenery. The tour finishes with an optional trip to Belfast to visit the Giant’s Causeway, or a day at leisure in Dublin. Extra Day Tuesday 13 June
We are delighted to be able to offer you the chance to travel with Flying Scotsman to add an extra day to your holiday! Flying Scotsman will take you from London Victoria or Slough to Chester, where you will spend the night. The next day you will fly from an airport near Chester to Douglas, Isle of Man, by private airline charter.

Day 1 Wednesday 14 June
London to the Isle of Man You may choose to fly to Douglas from a select choice of airports in the South East, or travel by a modern train service to Heysham for the three hour ferry crossing. Hotels in Douglas will include The Sefton for Dining passengers and The Mannin for non-dining passengers. Both hotels are ideally located on the promenade. Day 2 Thursday 15 June
Douglas Enjoy a journey along the coast on the Isle of Man Steam Railway, the longest narrow gauge steam line in Britain that still uses its original locomotives and carriages.You will also have a chance to visit Castle Rushen in the ancient capital of the Isle of Man, Castletown. Alternatively, join an excursion by vintage bus to Peel, to visit the sandy beach and castle, Ramsey and Milntown House Gardens (supplement applies). Or, you may also choose to explore the island at your own leisure, making use of the included Explorer Pass which allows you to travel on the local trains, buses and horse-drawn trams. Evening Dinner Special In the evening, dining passengers will enjoy a four or five course meal with wine in the restored dining carriages on the historic Isle of Man Steam Railway. Non-dining passengers are welcome to travel on the evening service in the unique bar car, serving local draught ale.

Westport
Join us on a trip along The scenic Manx Electric Railway, with a visit to the Great Laxey Water Wheel and the Snaefell Mountain Railway. Alternatively, join an excursion by vintage bus to pretty Castletown. You will also visit Cregneash, a picturesque village full of thatched cottages, and stop at the Sound, a viewpoint at the southern tip of the island (supplement applies). Evening Dinner Special In the evening, dining passengers will have the chance to travel on the Snaefell Mountain Railway to enjoy a three course meal at the 2000ft. summit. Non-dining passengers are welcome to travel on the evening service to enjoy the sunset views.
Day at leisure in the West of Ireland, with the option of travelling by steam on a day trip to Ballina, travelling by road coach around the breath-taking Connemara Loop or visiting Kylemore Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle. Day 7 Tuesday 20 June
Westport to Belfast via Dublin
Day 4 Saturday 17 June
We set off by steam from Westport to Dublin, where there will be a short break before we continue northwards by steam to Belfast. Passengers have the choice of spending two nights in Dublin or one night in Belfast and one night in Dublin. There is a supplement for the Belfast option due to the extra steam mileage. Douglas to Dublin
Day 8 Wednesday 21 June
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Douglas before travelling on a private charter flight from Douglas to Dublin. Day 5 Sunday 18 June
Dublin to Westport After breakfast we travel steam hauled across the country, past the loughs and green hills of County Mayo to Westport. Hotels in Westport will include the Westport Coast, Westport Plaza and The Wyatt Hotel. Pullman Style Dining passengers will have the option to stay in Ashford Castle (supplement applies).
Dublin or Belfast Day at leisure in Belfast, with the option of visiting the Titanic exhibition or the Giant’s Causeway before returning by steam to Dublin in the afternoon. Hotels in Dublin are likely to include The Merrion and The Jury’s Inn. Day 9 Thursday 22 June
Journey Home Passengers not wishing to fly home will be escorted by ferry and train back to London. Flights can be arranged (at cost) by Steam Dreams to a limited number of airports in the South East.
