Video Piece

Untitled Piece for Found Footage finds a way to utilize the skills of improvisers while laying out a ‘grand plan’ in which the events unfold. The composition results from careful editing of found footage from early 20th century American urban scenes. Each instrument has their own edited sequence of footage and a set of instructions. The performer interprets the events in the film as a kind of graphical representation of musical gesture. Although the sounds in the piece are quite flexible, their dispersal should reflect a literal reading of the events in the film.
