Southwest Ohio Developmental Center provides quality service as a residential training facility to individuals with Developmental Disabilities who’s ages range from adolescent to seniors. A Therapeutic Program Worker implements “hands on” interaction with SODC’s residents assisting with daily living skills and high quality choice driven opportunities. TPW positions available require one (1) week training period, are initially considered intermittent (current intermittent staff are averaging 30+ hours/wk) and may provide opportunities to permanent employment at SODC. Employment subject to successful completion of background check and validation of current drivers license.

Assists residents/applicants with the goal of achieving safe, affordable housing through the Section 8 Voucher Program. Conducts various meetings with program participants to assess eligibility and to collect required information, such as income and prior tenant history in order to complete appropriate certifications. Maintains participant records. Communicates with residents and landlords about tenant issues. Section 8 Housing experience desirable. Must have at least two years experience working with the general public. Must be detail oriented and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and able to use specialized software. Education: Candidate must have a high school diploma or have attained the equivalency of a high school diploma (GED). College level education is desired. Election related experience and skills: Operating voting machines used in the county and other automated office equipment; Comprehension of successful and efficient database management; Using, understanding and applying election law terminology; knowing the basics of Ohio’s “sunshine laws”; receiving and implementing assignments and instruction from Board members, Director and Secretary of State’s office. General managerial experience and skills: • Possession of effective written and interpersonal communication abilities; • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; • Familiarity with relevant state and federal human resources policies and practices; • Familiarity with handling of budgets and public appropriation of funds; • Ability to perform duties assigned by the law, the county board of elections, and/or the Secretary of State; • Ability to convey or exchange information, including giving and managing assignments or direction to board personnel; • Ability to be adapt and to perform in a professional manner under stressful or emergency situations; • Ability to comprehend a variety of informational documents; and • Ability to conduct self at all times in a professional and courteous manner. Job Duties: • Prepare and conduct all primary, general, and special elections held in the county; • Process, evaluate, and report election results; • Recruit and train precinct election officials; • Supervise the processing of voter records; • Keep a full and true record of the proceedings of the board and all moneys received and expended; • File and preserve in the board office all orders, records, and reports pertaining to the administration of voter registrations and elections; • Prepare the minutes of board meetings; • Audit campaign finance reports; • Calculate charge backs to political subdivision; • Receive and have custody of all books, papers, and property belonging to the board; • Perform such other duties in connection with the office of director and the proper conduct of elections as the Secretary of State and board determine; • Review all Directives, Advisories, Memoranda, correspondence and materials issued by the Secretary of State and take action as required by those communications; • Assist the board in drafting and implementing personnel policies and procedures; • Supervise and instruct board employees, assign work, coordinate activities, make recommendations concerning hiring, responsibilities, compensation, discipline, and discharge of board employees ; • Develop an annual budget and monitor the board’s budget and payroll; • Maintain and keep current a Board manual containing all of the Board’s policies, procedures and rulings adopted by the Board; • Maintain and submit an annual report of consumable inventory • Successful completion of a criminal background check Interested candidates should submit a resume, (unless the applicant needs to respond otherwise because of issues covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act) to; Brown County Board of Elections 800 Mt. ELECTION CLERK BROWN COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS An opening is available with the Brown County Board of Elections for an Elections Clerk. Their duties include processing voter registration and other related duties. Public relations which include, answering telephone, serving the public, passing out and accepting petitions, assisting with pollworker training, voter education, preparing for elections, checking ballot layout, checking ballot proofs, check signatures on petitions, assisting with absentees, supply individuals with forms and necessary information to place a local option question on the ballot, assist with updating street listings, precinct maps and other duties as deemed necessary by the Board. You will be required to work Secretary of State mandated hours and there will be travel for education and other duties deemed necessary by Board, Director or Deputy Director. Qualifications: Registered Democrat or a Republican voter, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, IT background, correspondence skills, knowledge of all office equipment, filing skills and other office procedures and must be able to lift 40 lbs.
