Betty (Scott) Donohoo, 98

Betty Anna (Scott) Donohoo, age 98 of Georgetown, Ohio died Sunday, February 23, 2020 at her residence. She graduated f r o m Georgetown High School in 1939 and then continued her education at the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and a graduate of the college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP). Betty was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, founding member of the Brown County Charity Horse Show and a tireless volunteer for many charities and historic preservations projects such as the Brown County Courthouse restoration. She was born October 14, 1921 in Aberdeen, Ohio the only child of Nathan Robert and Hazel (Shelton) Scott. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. John R. Donohoo in 1998. Mrs. Donohoo is survived by three children – Michael Donohoo, Deb Durbin and husband Tom and Dr. Jeff Donohoo and wife Carol all of Georgetown, Ohio; four grandchildren – Jenny Connor and husband Bobby of Georgetown, Ohio, Brian Andriot and wife Jen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Sarah Donohoo of Ripley, Ohio and Casey Tucker and husband Jason of Milford, Ohio and eight great grandchildren – Kelsey, Oliver, Chandler, Roxen, Jillian, Grayson, Anna and Devin. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family. Denise Prather, 65

Denise K. Prather, age 65 of Higginsport, Ohio, died Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley, Ohio. She was retired f r o m Brown County C h i l d Support and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Higginsport, Ohio. Mrs. Prather was born April 11, 1954 in Georgetown, Ohio the daughter of Freddie (Watson) Horn of Higginsport, Ohio and the late Harold Hughes. She was also preceded in death by a brother – Jimmy Hughes; stepfather – Mike Horn and stepmother – Harriett Hughes. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Prather is survived by her loving husband of forty-six years – Calvin Prather; one son – Brandon Prather (Erica) of Oakwood, Ohio; three grandsons – Matthew, Simon and Benny Prather; one brother – Kevin Horn (Rose) of Higginsport, Ohio and one sister – Sherry Hughes of Mt. Orab, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday. James Burroughs, 67

James Walter Burroughs unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2020 at his home in Felicity, Oh. James was born to Edward and Jeanette Burroughs on November 20, 1952 in Cincinnati, Oh. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 21 years. He was the beloved husband, best friend and the one and only love of Cheryl Lynn Burroughs for 49 years. He was the proud father of James E. Burroughs (Felicity, Oh.), Amanda Gipson (David) of Peebles, Oh. and Carinia Sunshine Watson (Brad) of Georgetown, Oh. He was the loving grandfather of Victoria Baker, Josh Gipson, Megan Brannon, Jake Watson and Kade Watson. He was a brother n law to numerous brother and sister n laws. He was an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Burroughs and Helen Jeanette Burroughs and one brother Stanley E. Burroughs. Services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Glicker Funeral Home. 1849 Salem Ave. Dayton, Oh 45406. Visitation will be 11:30am - 12:30pm. Immediately following we will proceed to Dayton National Cemetery from 12:30pm - 1:30pm. Lent is a good time to try seafood, since it’s often on sale. Here’s an easy recipe with tilapia, a mild white fish. Even the kids like this one! BAKED LEMON BUTTER TILAPIA Ingredients 4 tilapia filets 1/3 cup butter, melted 1 tablespoon minced garlic 3-4 tablespoons lemon juice or to taste Seafood seasoning or salt and pepper to taste Paprika for garnish (optional) Instructions Preheat oven to 400.

Whisk butter, garlic and lemon juice together. Lay filets in oven proof pan and sprinkle lightly with seasoning or salt and pepper on both sides. Pour butter mixture over all. Bake until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 10-12 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika and serve.
