We have had a great Memorial Day next weekend with warmer temperatures and not so much rain. Memorial Day marks the official beginning of summer. After visiting several cemeteries in the area, I think our Winchester cemetery looks the nicest. It's neatly trimmed and lots of families have decorated. We love walking out there as it is very peaceful. I am very, very thankful hair salons have reopened. I, along with several other people I know, were beginning to look a little (actually, a lot) shaggy and gray. Continued prayers for Kim Bowman who is now home recuperating from
have partnered with the JobsOhio-OhioSE team to provide some funds that we are continuing to invest into the Peebles facility. Dansons is a family owned and operated business located in Phoenix, AZ. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to purchase the Peebles facility and look forward to engaging with the community and growing the business together. Demand for the BBQ industry continues to increase, and Dansons is meeting that demand as well as creating well-paying jobs in Adams County. The new operations will utilize the area’s abundant
hardwood and a thriving sawmill industry, turn this hardwood product into a reliable source of fuel in the form of pellets for grills. Southern Ohio’s positive business climate-particularly the low tax structure and exceptional logistical advantages- were cited as other location decisions. This investment poises Dansons for future growth in a hot market of grilling-their company’s primary focus. JobsOhio and OhioSE worked closely with Dansons on the project, which is being supported with a $75,000 JobsOhio Grant. Local support comes from Adams
County Economic Development and the Adams County OMJ to assist with workforce needs. “The Dansons Peebles, LLC investment is a great example of utilizing existing facilities and hardwood feedstock together to meet a company’s growing needs. Our location provides access to eastern markets as well as an available workforce ready to support the operation,” said Katy Farber of OhioSE. “We and our partners at JobsOhio are pleased to welcome Dansons to southern Ohio and thank them for their investment in the OhioSE region.” “We are always excited to welcome companies who are investing in our area and appreciate the confidence Dansons Peebles, LLC has in Adams County, where
