Kids can explore books and stories using just their imagination and a telephone. Dial (216) 777-6500 to hear recordings of classic children’s stories, jokes and poetry.
FREE FAMILY MEALS
A variety of FREE meal packages are available at Cleveland Public Library locations through a partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. Meals are available to anyone in the community while supplies last. Contact your neighborhood branch for details and availability. Kids’ Café (all branches and Youth Services Department, Main Library, 4th floor) Nutritious FREE summer lunches for kids and teens, ages 18 and under. Backpack Meals (select locations) A FREE two-day supply of meals for youth, ages 18 and under. Backpack meals include two breakfasts, two entrees, and two snacks. Family Food Boxes (select locations including Youth Services, Main Library, 4th floor) Adults and families may pick up a free 20- to 30-pound box of non-perishable dry goods including nutritional foods such milk, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and canned fruits, vegetables, and tuna.
Library Cards Library cards are available to adults, children, and teens who reside, work, or attend an educational institution in the State of Ohio. Special Scholar Success Library Cards are available to young people age 17 and under. To get your Scholar Success card, visit any Cleveland Public Library location and ask a staff member. eCards are available for access to electronic resources such as ebooks, emedia, research databases, etc. Apply online at cpl.org. Educator Cards are available to teachers in schools or licensed childcare centers. Apply for a library card, eCard, or educator card at any Cleveland Public Library location or online at cpl.org.
