Let your voice be heard! Tell your story through art. These workshops are for you whether you’re a beginner or ready to take your art to the next level. YOUNG SCHOLARS ACADEMY CLEVELAND PUBLIC LIBRARY
Kindergarten readiness for children ages 3–6 and their parent and/or other caring adult: Engaging, once-a-week lessons for children are based on the Ohio Department of Education Learning Standards and provide parents with research-based tips that support learning opportunities at home. Participate online or attend in-person sessions at select library locations. BEGINNERS’ ACADEMY is for children ages 3 and 4 who will not be entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2022. TRANSITIONAL ACADEMY is for children ages 4–6 who are in kindergarten in the fall of 2021 or will be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2022. Scholars and their families receive giveaways of free learning materials and early literacy resources to use at home. Kids’ Café (all branches and Youth Services Department, Main Library, 4th floor) Nutritious FREE grab-and-go meals for kids and teens, ages 18 and under.
Library Cards Library cards are available to adults, children, and teens who reside, work, or attend an educational institution in the State of Ohio. Special Scholar Success Library Cards are available to young people age 17 and under. To get your Scholar Success card, visit any Cleveland Public Library location and ask a staff member. eCards are available for access to electronic resources such as ebooks, emedia, research databases, etc. Apply online at cpl.org. Backpack Meals (select locations) A FREE two-day supply of meals for youth, ages 18 and under. Backpack meals include two breakfasts, two entrees, and two snacks. Family Food Boxes (select locations including Youth Services, Main Library, 4th floor) Adults and families may pick up a free 20- to 30-pound box of non-perishable dry goods including nutritional foods such milk, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and canned fruits, vegetables, and tuna.
