Our Passion: Developing You Our passion is simple and is centred on developing you, the whole person. Maya Angelou once wrote ‘’I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” We extend this sentiment to our Sixth Form students: we will work with you to ensure you have everything you need to achieve your best.

Live to Learn Alongside having a choice of A Levels and vocational courses that match your aspirations and previous achievements, we want you to become curious about your learning, to love it! As a student at Cox Green you will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning and demonstrate a committed and conscientious approach to your studies. However, whilst you will be encouraged to become an independent learner, you will not be left on your own; your academic progress will be closely monitored to ensure you remain on track to realise your full potential. Such a caring and proactive approach to post-16 study will produce excellent results and is a distinctive feature of our Sixth Form. You will also participate in debate and discussion and be expected to engage in learning in a different way. As with a university place or a job, you will be expected to turn up prepared.

Learn to Live We will make you ready; whether it be for the world of work; Oxbridge; a Russell group university; apprenticeships; or for any other aspirations you have for your life as an adult. Enrichment and leadership opportunities that help you far beyond the acquisition of a qualification are extensive. There is an expectation that you will participate in community service and a work placement. Our specialised careers advice will help you plan your future. Our mentoring and mindfulness courses are aimed at supporting your well-being. Learning important skills for life such as managing finances and eating well on a budget are also an integral part of our Sixth Form programmes.

What’s Different? The Sixth Form at Cox Green will feel different. First and foremost you will be treated as young adults. Independence and thriving adult relationships will support this. Small mentoring groups with a dedicated Sixth Form Mentor will help and guide you through Sixth Form and adult life. As a Sixth Former your lessons, lectures and workshops will be aimed at preparing you, not just for your exams but also university, apprenticeships and the world of work.
Our strong sense of community spirit is the bedrock of our school. Friendships that you forge during your time in our Sixth Form will be some of the strongest of your lifetime. We look forward to welcoming you to Cox Green Sixth Form.
