English and English Literature Maths Double or Triple Science History or Geography Modern Languages Plus a choice of two other subjects (for example: Creative Arts)
The School Day The day begins at 8.30am, though students can buy breakfast from 8.00am. During the day there are five lessons of 60 minutes each, with 20 minutes for mid-morning break and 50 minutes for lunch. Students in Year 7 – 11 are not allowed to leave the school site at lunchtimes. The day finishes at 3.00pm, although many students remain in school as part of our outof-hours learning programme. The Library (which includes ICT facilities) is open as a study provision. Year 11 students have a compulsory additional lesson each day which means they will not leave until 4.00pm most days. This lesson 6 programme is also extended to some students in Year 10.

The curriculum is organised into three Key Stages: Key Stage 3: Years 7, 8 and 9 Key Stage 4: Years 10 and 11 Key Stage 5: Years 12 and 13 Students make guided choices during Year 9, when they have had a good opportunity to study a wide range of subjects.

Educating for
HOPE AND ASP We will educate the whole child to be the best that they can be. We will develop them into wellrounded citizens who are ready to make the world a better place. An excellent education will enable our students to lead a fuller life and above all to have hope:
Humanity Optimism Perseverance Excellence These words sum up our core purpose. To embrace ‘Life in all its Fullness’, we need to first lead a fuller life where we cope wisely when things go wrong, celebrate our individual and joint successes and approach everything we do with kindness. It is through our shared life as a community that we experience our humanity and we will face all challenges wisely with optimism and perseverance. Above all, we will pursue excellence in all we do, so that we are all the best that we can be.
