GGENERAL INFORMATION Welcome to Waldegrave Sixth Form Our core philosophy is to ensure our students enjoy a love of learning, achieve their aspirations, and feel empowered to become the leaders of, and contributors to, a better society. Why Study at Waldegrave School? How many subjects will I study? We expect all students to study three subjects, but in exceptional circumstances students may be able to study four subjects. This would typically apply to students who wish to study subjects such as Music, Maths, Further Maths, or languages where a student is a native speaker. Teaching at Waldegrave is recognised as outstanding. In the sixth form you will benefit from our teachers’ extensive experience and deep subject knowledge. Teachers will inspire you in the specialist subjects you have chosen, ignite your imagination, fuel your spirit of enquiry and create an atmosphere of discovery in the classroom. We aim to offer a broad range of subjects that will allow you to progress to university, further training or employment. There will be an opportunity to discuss this at the information, advice and guidance meeting. We run a full set of internal exams at the end of Y12 in order to assess progress and understand how best to support students moving forward. At Waldegrave we review our curriculum plans carefully each year in the light of local and national trends.
